Sounds beautiful man! A buddy of mine sent me a video of yours last night of Workin For MCA, which was excellent. I’ve been playing for 38 years but mostly heavier music and Classical Music. Been trying to tighten up my chops with some Skynyrd and the video helped big-time! Just curious if you’re from Jacksonville. I live right down the road from fruit cove, and Julington Creek, where members of the band lived, and the southern vibe is still strong here. Also, still wondering if you’re offering video chats to help with Ed King’s playing. Would love to see y’all play live!

Thanks a lot Scott! This is definitely the best acoustic version of Tuesday's Gone period. The way you incorporate the melody with the phrasing is brilliant. I also like your less is more approach allowing the song to breathe. I was planning to just watch your cruise video endlessly and mimic your fingering to learn it but I owe you a HUGE thanks for explaining the licks in this video. Like you I learned by ear which developed well in learning songs accurately for the most part but lacked comprehension as to the recipe for the licks. This video was a pivotal epiphany for me after many years of playing. I'd play solos based on patterns I memorized or basic pentatonic box which gets the job done in most instances. I didn't much incorporate chord fragments and trills up and down the neck that are derived from the chord name. Not only does it add flavor, I now fully understand the beast mode version you played on the cruise, not to mention a ton of time saved in learning how to play it! This paves the way and provides some nice seasoning to my solos. Much appreciated!

Very nice Scott. Being a huge L.S. fan since the early 70s and playing guitar for over 50 years-Tuesdays gone remains one of my all time favorite songs of any band. I tried many times to get our band to play it, but for whatever reason it just never worked out. So, I found a way to play it on my Strat and still make it something I can entertain a crowd with - by myself. That being said I did steal a couple of ideas from you and I will " bake" them into what I play...so thank you! LOL You know as I was watching I was thinking what you were playing looked pretty simple, but then I thought - well wait a minute- what if I was just listening to this and not watching you subjectively as a guitar player myself.....it was only then I realized just how good it is...I could see a recording of this making it on a record or maybe during a movie......nice job 😀

I found the cruise acoustic video man its awesome. Scott i've been playing Skynyrd for years and you my friend got a great thing going, most lessons treat people like they've never played,.... but for a player like me its great you waist no time wet nursing if you're a beginner better get your lesson somewhere else. ... and if you would pass a message to Artimus for me, I seen the 1st Skynyrd tribute back in the 90's and was not happy that Artimus was not included , he is the Drummer and I talked to Lacy Van Zant at the meet and greet and asked him why Artimus wasn't there and all he said was " the bullshit that hangs over these boys was unfortunate and Artimus was treated unfair" I thought that Artimus would like to know that Ronny's dad loved him always. Billy and Gary were assholes for leaving the real Skynyrd drummer out........ but Artimus is my favorite of the living members . and he's the last one standing. Rock on guys..... much love here God Bless The Stella Ryderz Band Seattle Wa.

Scott I love this, having just come across it recently. Thank you for doing this tutorial. When you say you're fingerpicking, are you really hybrid picking? It seems to me, and sounds so, that you are using your pinky and ring fingers on the higher strings whilst picking the bass notes?
@seraines

It is hybrid. I have no idea when it started. I use a pick with my middle and ring fingers. I don’t think the pinky contributes much in my case.

Hi, good morning from here 6am local time. I just wake up and noticed your video. It was a very nice video as I am interested watching you more in acoustic rather than Electric ones. Specially I am keenly trying for hybrid picking along with strumming as it is more dynamic than only strumming ones. It took a long time for me to play finger picking rhythm while singing and playing, which would already be in another higher level, not a normal player. One unique thing with you, is that you could really present in a better format for some piano song like " hello it's me from Todd Rundgren in your acoustic and it turns out much better than Todd's version. So, watching you playing on your acoustic is a lot of fun in a realistic manner. Anyway, types of strumming mode vary with sequence of the tempo of the music. All in all, you really execute well in most of your acoustic versions. Finally thanks for your video. Hope everybody there fine and healthy.
