Great video, i've always wondered what the inside of one of these boats looks like. This brought it to life. Also very enjoyable for a Philly native like myself--nice views of the Girard Point Bridge and other sites. Thank you for posting this.

Very informative... Looks like a very professional tug with everything in its place. Thanks for sharing and you do a great job of breaking it down for us laymen. Thanks again.

Also, i never realized that the rear-facing wheelhouse had a full control station where you can steer and operate the throttles. I thought it was merely a place for a mate to sit and watch the tow. This is heaven for a boat nerd like myself. Thanks again and sorry for the repeat post.

Looks like a Vane Brothers Tug, I recognize the colors on it. I use to work on Offshore Tugs years back similar to that but some were bigger.

Thanks for posting this interesting overview of Tug operations. You covered a lot in a short time. I'm curious about a few things: How many days is a typical 'shift' for a city tug crewperson, and how many crew typically on that type tug? Does one man/w do all kitchen duty and is s/he expected to do other duties too? Are hands employed by the tug company and stay with one boat, or do they come from a union and work different tugs at different times? Do you have HF radio capability, or is that only used on oceangoing tugs?

Many thanks for an impressive tour, a real eye opener. Dare we ask the price tag on such an elegant vessel?
