Flown with Tui from Manchester to Cape Verdi. We were on the very back row. Plane was filthy, service was atrocious and the whole flight felt like we were just cargo. It was our honeymoon so hubby ordered a bottle of champagne. It’s just not the same in plastic mugs (one of which had a crack in so lost half a glass- no apology, just thrown a second plastic mug. Not even offered a cloth to clean a sticky table). The worst bit though was the leak that constantly dripped on my husbands head - he was sat in the aisle. They wiped the drips occasionally, but again made no apology or gave him anything to mop up with. The whole holiday was abysmal and will never use Tui again.

E190 looks nice with the tui livery.

7:20 I once had the breaking through the clouds moment without leaving the ground when I went up the El Teide volcano in Tenerife, which is so high that the peak is above the clouds.

Flying is a mature and efficient industry, the air fare + window seat charge was less than my last cab ride across town.

Love your clips. It's refreshing to see these clips concentrating on what they are meant to be about and hearing the stuff going on around you rather than being all about the host and how clever and pretty they are. I am not a frequent flyer by any means, but when I fly, which is usually domestically here in New Zealand, I always pay a little bit more and choose an exit window seat if I can. As you said, more leg room. Domestic flights here in NZ are mostly done with the Airbus A320 between the major airports, ie Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch and Dunedin, and the smaller ATR and Saab turboprop aircraft.

Sorry to hear you had such a long wait both at check-in and at security. The only good thing that I can say is that it’s nice to know this sort of unacceptable service doesn’t just happen here in the USA (we’re kind of used to this level of ‘service’) but sadly happens in other parts of the world as well. I guess what I’m saying is, “misery likes company“. 🙄

I have always found the video quality of your reports to be excellent. Sometimes it not about the number of pixels, but the quality of the camera lens which makes the difference. It's a pity that your view over the walled town was a bit obscured by the engine. There is an excellent view from the top of the Dubrovnik cable car, as I am sure you are aware. As always, I look forward to your next report.

I know the situation has been more or less forced upon you but it is nice to see some economy flights in your repertoire - although the sight of all those slimline seats compared to the first class 'suites' you have often filmed does make the heart sink somewhat. But it's fine for a flight of a few hours. I do, if I can, buy more leg room because my partner wriggles badly in many standard seats and if I can get the escape row I do because my partner was involved in the design of aircraft doors and would actually be a useful person to have assisting if there was an emergency! Keep travelling - you give me hope of actually seeing some of these places soon.

Everytime I'm traveling in Europe I always feel like I'm home. Even pre covid it's not unusual for lines to be that long as someone who travels on budget I always get to the airport 3 hours before my flight leaves to avoid any possible delays with lines like that. Hopefully I'll be able to afford first and/or business class soon these videos give me something to shoot for

I couldn’t believe how much quieter this flight was compared to those first class videos. Is it really that much quieter?

Wow that Airport experience was terrible especially considering how quiet things were once you got through security. I have flown with TUI from Gatwick their 757s are past their sell by date however their Dreamliners are really nice. The cabin crew sadly are very inconsistent with regards to service, they never smile, don’t appear to enjoy their job and the last time I flew with the I sat near the rear galley and som of the crew moaned about their company and management constantly in ear shot of passengers really shocking. I now fly Jet2 or British Airways on leisure routes. Great report as always thanks for sharing.

Airports do have issues with mismanagement of staff as a result of the pandemic. Some airports do it better but also use more data to make those decisions

Hi, Dr. LTE-no, I would not pay for extra leg room on a flight less than 5 hours. But I am not tall and I prefer the aisle seat so I can take a short stroll around the cabin if I need to stretch. Nightmare airport wait but nice flight, not at all crowded. I remember the days before security check when you could get to the airport 20 minutes before boarding (although I usually allowed at least an hour). Now on short-haul flights you often spend more time in the airport than on the plane :( P.S. I think it's kind of cute when you fly economy--lol

Flew several times with TUI to Kos and Crete. And every time the seat padding was merely there. It felt like sitting on a stone. These seats in this plane look a lot alike.

I was always paying extra legroom seat on Europe's short haul flights when the extra price is acceptable on more than one hour flights. Such a good "investment" when the flight is full.

Unfortunately most of the Airports either sacked Employees or they‘re on short work schedules. Two weeks ago summer vacation started in Hamburg and, surprise, People want to travel. The Airport was packed with People and they had only two lanes open at the security line. So it took forever to get through. I‘ve flown TUI a couple of years ago to Fuerteventura and they even offered a Premium Economy Class on this flight and I took advantage of it. It was pretty Good. There was plenty of Food and they even offered priority Boarding 😉.

May be it would be wise to check in very early and wait in the airline lounge to avoid losing your flight. Thank you again for sharing your experience.

4K trip? What does that mean?

The Luxury is to be able to travel abroad again. Limited and under unpleasant conditions though. Seems it took a whole day to get to destination as you probably went something like 5 hours in advance to the airport to be sure to board.

Extra leg room, yest. Seat by the emergency door? No. I once had an argument with a nasty staff member that would not allow me to have my small handbag on my lap, even though it'd fit under the seatbelt no problem. you're not supposed to have bags but come on this was a really small one!

Always amusing when people clap on touchdown! What are they clapping? That the pilot managed to land the plane? Well, kind of insulting as the pilot is very well trained to do just that... Or that they and the aeroplane somehow got to their destination without crashing and everyone dying? Well, airline travel is incredibly safe, and the planes are built and designed to fly cross continents.... I mean, do these people clap a bus driver when they drop them off at their destination, or a train driver every time they stop at a station😁. No! So why do it when flying! Maybe it's nerves, but It's just silly when you think about it logically.

Sorry but this is how the majority of us travel. We know what these trips are like. We subscribe to 'the Luxury Travel Expert' where we would like to see how the other half travels.
