It's time to change. Hello world, we hope you're listening.
The prayer translates to:
Heavenly Father, Lord, Jesus,
We need You to answer our prayers
We have forgotten our sacred vow
To love one another - as You have loved us
A darkness has fallen over the land
An evil we simply cannot control
We have lost parents, children, friends...
What have we done to deserve this?
Lead us towards the light
And purge this land of its enemies
Keep those loved ones lost to us
Safe!
For one day
we shall meet them again...
in heaven.

I am a Black American Woman, asking America, the systems in America this question! Senzeni Na? 400 years.... Why? There is so much pain and hurt in the black community, how can we heal? We've struggled under the weight of racism and injustice. Yet still we carry on seeking, believing, trusting that GOD will bring us through!!!

There is no more powerful protest song on this earth. Especially if you know its indigenous African origin as a funeral lament and then its central place in the struggle against apartheid. And THIS is the most powerful performance of that most powerful song. Bless you wonderful young people.

Beautifully sung. Even though the message has been diluted by false hopes. That diverts people from what they have to do here on earth as if there is a heaven where they are going to be rewarded. Sad. I prefer the original version of the song.

Sharon Phirwa Sharon, I so understand and empathize with your pain and rage at this craziness. I have ancestors who were brutally murdered in the holocaust in Germany during World War II. I can understand your desire to strike back and hurt these people who have committed such atrocities. But please know that if you continue to hate, you only perpetuate hatred. You are in danger of becoming like the very people that you hate. Try to remember the power and effectiveness of Nelson Mandela‘s approach. Love is the only true agent of change. It is not easy, I know, but it is what we must all strive for.
