This video shows one of the most popular methods for getting baby on your back using a Tula Explore carrier. The carrier demonstrated with is the Tula Explore Carrier in Sleepy Dust print.
When doing this for the first time it can be helpful to have another person there, 'spotting' for you, just for reassurance. Alternatively, if you practice near a soft surface, so you can easily lower your little one on to it if needed.

In this position, the strap digs into my stomach and I find it so uncomfortable.. If I losen it i feel like baby is hanging too low. I had high hopes for this carrier but I don’t know how people are able to wear it for long periods of time.

Carriers do fit everyone differently (a bit like jeans). It's worth playing about with how high you sit the waistband. Just a few cms difference in where you sit it makes a huge difference to the comfort. Also, ensure your shoulder straps are nicely tightened. This will prevent your little one from pulling backwards, which will put pressure on the webbing around your waist. Hope that helps!
