Күн бұрын

Tulsi Gabbard (four-term congresswoman and author, “For Love of Country: Leave the Democrat Party Behind”) joins Chris Cuomo to share why she left the Democratic Party, touching on her concerns about its increasingly partisan policies. She critiques the party's handling of key issues like free speech, foreign policy, and the role of government, arguing that its current trajectory undermines American values. Gabbard also discusses the impact of identity politics on national unity, the importance of a balanced foreign policy approach, and the need for genuine accountability in government.

Trump is crazy if he doesn't choose this woman as his VP. I am an independent also. I used to think Trump was the closest thing we'd ever get to having an independent in the White House. (He had been a member of multiple parties during his life, but mostly Democrat.) Now I believe Tulsi is the closest thing to a true independent that will ever be in the White House. Hopefully, this will be the beginning of the end of both of these awful parties.

@@Think-dont-believe I can't speak to that other than to say both parties are guilty of lying and misrepresenting things to the public. Behind closed doors they are all laughing at us. I think we live in complicated times, we do not need government overreach (both parties different reach) complicating things. The Senate is a body elected by their state to represent theirs states best interest. The House members are elected by the people of the congressional district (Jerrymandered) which is why they seldom seem to be presenting the people. The President is elected by an electoral collage, why? The people MUST be responsible for electing the President. Remove the electoral collage, add ranked voting and we will solve much of this craziness. IMO.

Chris, first time long time. I know you well. Best compliment I can provide you: you have allowed yourself to evaluate based upon the facts as they compile….. ever since you left CNN. You returned to your legal roots without Zucker/CNN producer and ideology group think owning your ear. You and most of the extended NewsNation team are doing a proper job. Great transparent conversation with Tulsi. You missed the final layup right at the end when discussing boating/football teams/politics. The reason in politics it’s an isolated position is the DAILY hammering from social to MSM to the parties themselves that the other party is 100% wrong and I’m right. There is no alternative to go. There’s a 3rd party candidate with a political legacy that’s polling significant to make an impact and he’s not afforded a security detail? How unAmerican is that? It’s an orchestrated effort of the media/parties to constantly hammer the hate. You’d have the same problem if baseball was only the Yankees and RedSox and eliminated the other 30 teams. The same if Baskin Robbins took out 29 other flavors and left with just chocolate and vanilla(actually crap and crap with sprinkles) . Coke Pepsi, etc. Just think about how dominant Coke/Pepsi was but now we’ve greatly expanded our drinking choices. Sure you might be paying Coke and Pepsi largely but the diversity of choice applies. But the 1980s concept applies here politically. Think about what Jan Hus and Martin Luther did to the Church. They spoke up and held the Church to account. They paid a price but Protestantism proliferated. That systemic display of hate and competitive lockout is what keeps everything in check for the 2 kingpins. In a country that thrives on competitive landscape for best options, its leadership is the exact opposite of it.

Chris, as a fellow NY’er and Italian growing up at about the same era in life as yourself which was wonderful, I used to like you when you first came on cnn many years ago. Then you took a hard left hand turn and got sucked in by the wokeness and kissed up to lemon who I can’t stand to listen to. Even now, I watch you sneer as you hit tulsi with questions like your trying to trap her or catch her in an “ah ha” moment. Just be yourself Chris, stop with the gotcha BS, it will take you alot further. Anyway I can’t believe I’m saying this but this was a good interview, I love tulsi, she’s a thinker, she’s compassionate about her love for this country, she’s pro 2A, she wants to bring back law and order into this country before it’s too late…

And thanks Chris. Having someone like Gabbard on your show is more of what we need. Hearing the words coming from their mouth is important. I have always believed there are more good people in this world than bad. And I believe we need to hear more from the right...like Gabbard...cuz it leaves that bad taste in the mouth of those "good" people. And finally...I still fail to understand your distaste for Biden. Considering all of the good he has already accomplished...is your beef only his age? Would you dare use your vote on someone you KNOW would not win the race? You have two logical choices...MAKE A DECISION Chris!

Incredibly surprised Tulsi didn't call Cuomo out on his comments of Trump's character. I would have asked if he believed Cuomo's brother's character was as believably disparagingly as the media had him painted as?

My preference 40 years ago was to get rid of the parties, just individuals defending their own decisions and votes. If a policy is good you will get the votes, or be fired.

Popular vote only represents the majority, though. If you happen to vote on the minority side, do you get your fair percentage? Now that probably would be fair. However, if you vote in a virtual system, do you fear someone will get a hold of your votes and eliminate you? Thus are votes suppressed in a virtual item by item popular vote system?

Thank you both! Whoa...A lot of angry folks posting here. I suppose some are terrified that anything or anyone that might cause a vote loss and get the psychopathic (even though Chris thinks its just bad character 🤣) guy back in, would be triggering. I totally understand that fear. I vote Blue cause I much prefer the ideology and character between the two choices/two party gang game of which we have to play. However, I was born a very Independent, crtical and conceptual thinker, and because of that, always registered as INDEPENDENT. Even though I vote Blue, I see how crazy bad this game is as it is. Not much different than street gangs. I see it as EVERYONE being an INDEPENDENT PERSON AND VOTER as the answer. I hope some day we can evolve to a better way. Sometimes it is difficult for those leading the way for change, as it seems Chris and Tulsi are doing. But for now, whatever you are registered as, just vote Blue or we may get the criminal monster mob boss back in the House and might be our last time to EVER VOTE again, and the chaos he has caused on a grand scale will seem like nothing compared to another round of the power freak. In my opinion, my favorite choice by a million miles due to character and heart and intelligence would be Marianne Williamson. 👍💯 If only it was possible. I mean we have evolved a little with blacks and women being able to vote. And, oh yah, that happened with people Independently thinking and going against the masses and taking a lot of abuse and even being murdered to make change. So before attacking Chris and Tulsi, just try a little open mindedness. Thanks

She is sooooo slippery. Never have I heard a politician who has flip-flopped more on ideology over such a short period of time. Clearly, she is bought and paid for and will say anything if it is in her political self-interest. And SO incredibly disappointed in Chris for appearing to validate this nonsense. I will never trust anything that comes out of his mouth anymore. Zero integrity these two.

I voted for Yang in the 2020 primary, I think he is great and Tusli was too. I hate the way the gop and dems gate keep. I remember joing several twitter events calling out media why they don't have Yang on. i think Yang ran in the wrong year because Dems were hyper sensitive about everything is racist and attacked him. I ended up voting for for Biden against trump. I despise trump, I legit would have voted for Haley. I have voted for both may times. Maybe we should start revolting about the gate keeping more loudly? Being a loyalist to a politician is nuts imo.

The gatekeeping as you call it is really how the lines have been divided in the populace. They are mostly trying to please their own voter base. Unfortunately, democracy dosen't decree that representation should be done by the percentage of the popular vote on all issues. We are getting close to the technology for that, but the losers will always decree foul play.

I really loathed Chris Cuomo during his last couple of years at CNN, and while it felt a little like Karma coming for him when he was fired so abruptly, I really do feel like he is in the muffle of a redemptive season and moment and I hope that he is feeling truly exc8ted about what he is doing, and the freedom that he has ga8ned as a result of being fired and comes back bigger then ever on his own terms, with renewed passion and excitement that is reflected in his work. I do honestly wish nothing but success and all the best things, and feel really happy seeing him getting back into the ring and not letting them crush his spirit!!
