Interesting. I use the HONE now which is a totally different design and quality.

I recommend the HONE (honesharp.com), more feature, angles, does really small knives, and MUCH less expensive, all high quality solid aluminum and stainless steel. You may want to check out my review on it. 3 different rolling sharpener comparison review is coming soon!

@@UkuleleJayBBQ To be fair getting even a belt sharpener would be more efficient and probably cheaper.

@@icebear4849 Agree with you! I will be showing that soon. I use a WorkSharp Kitchen Pro which requires power but I will be comparing some other manual sharpeners as well. It does work well on knives already slightly dull in a few minutes of work but on a damaged knife with even the slightest nick it would take a really long time. I have a full line up of WorkSharp coming up next.

@@UkuleleJayBBQ I use a work sharp Ken onion but I cool the blade every few strokes to prevent the heat treatment being ruined

@@icebear4849 I have a Ken Onion on the way for my little axe out at my wood pile plus the Elite manual. I travel cooking and don’t always have power so having a good portable non power option is a must.

I would not recommend this for pocket knives. Take a look at my review on the Worksharp Angle Knife Sharpener. I am posting another review soon on the Worksharp Elite which I think will be the uktimate pocket knive sharpener and will do all knives of just about any angle.

Hi Cody this one cost 98.00 which is already expensive. The HORL2 is about 50% more and I just can't see buying something like this at that price, let alone the interchangeable disc model which is $500.00. It sure looks like an awesome sharpener but for $500 bucks it's out of reach for 90% of everyone I know for a multi-grit sharpener. I would love to compare the base HORL2. Maybe they'll see this and offer to send one for testing (that I would be glad to send back). I'm doing a lot more sharpener reviews (have 4 coming up in a series) so keep an eye out.

A new rolling sharpener is being debuted in the first review on KZfaq later this week (unpaid, uncensored) and it leaps both of the rolling sharpeners on the market. It's a game changer! Make sure to keep an eye on my channel!

This is very old video. No I would not recommend this as the HONE (honesharp.com) is the only rolling knife sharpener designed to do really small knives. I have videos of the small knife on my channel. Search HONE and take a look and tell me what you think.

This was an older video but agree. Check out Honesharp.com or Worksharptools.com. The Hone has the most extensive line of discs and is build like a tank.

Now that other devices like Honesharp.com have been released, this is not.

The HONE will do folding knives and I have a filet knife I need to check but I think HONE will do it with their special small knife design.

If you mean like some three inch wide Bowie knife that's going to be above the tumbler, just stick a book or some lumber alongside it to raise the tumbler. I think it (or the Horl original tumbling sharpener) is a good solution for most people's use case, but if you have a two-handed Highland sword you want to sharpen, then sure, it might be a problem.

There’s a video of them using this to sharpen a Chinese cleaver, they used a thick chopping board to match the height. Use ur brain
