A retired doctor with a rather special car is concerned about its health. Is the patient's condition as bad as the doctor feared?

There can't be many cars left in same family/owner for such a long time. Cheers.

Always liked these Humbers , Engine was Based on an Armstrong Siddeley design , ROOTES GROUP and Siddeley worked closely together with gearboxes and Engines also the Sunbeam Alpine was joint effort with several thousand of the Mark 1 built by them in the early 60s . Like your style and enthusiasm....excellent for someone of your age 😊

Thank you. I discovered the A-S connection soon after I bought my own car, as the engine was different to Rootes' usual practice.

It doesnt get better than this. I thoroughly enjoyed hearing you both chat together. I loved the idea that the Doctors Father had purchased the beautiful Humber new. Wouldnt he like to see his now much older son , still driving it. Great to hear you both enjoying this beautiful car together, with age making no difference as two friends . As it should be. I just loved the whole thing. Cheers, John (Australia)...I had a 1965 Humber Super Snipe Series V for 26years. I absolutely loved it.

Thank you for your kind words. I don’t think many folk could say they still have the same car after all this time.

That will have the twin Strombergs. Known faults include the diaphragms.

Marvellous video but there's something I don't get. After the accident, work was needed on the front chromework but certain parts could not be obtained. When the second lot of major work was done, nearly 40 years later, those parts wouldn't be any easier to find. So how is it that the front of the car is now immaculate?

I believe the chrome was sourced later when the cars had passed through the old banger stage and people began stripping them for parts to retain. The internet has also made finding parts so much easier, but body panels and trim were always a problem.
