I love to do that to people on the highway. The puzzled look on their face afterward. A little lag, and the ECU's interpreting your foot in the floor, makes a slow start. There are a lot more fun from a roll

Always keep in mind civic. Especially the economy versions were built with "aero efficiency" in mind. To me, even a lightly modded one could be dangerous to known fast cars. If you take a car build with a low drag co-efficient and slap se power under it, you are going to have something that performs very very well in a straight line once it hooks. Just for reference. My 06' r18 civic with just an intake while stationed in Germany would give mk3 and Mk4 vr6 golfs a dead even acceleration pull till about 85-90mph where I would kinda creep myself to a full car and a half length on them nlbefor2 hitting my 212km/h governor. To me that's very impressive. Mind you my civic without any stupid body kits at it's time was like 3rd place on the drag co-efficient list of 2006. I think that's what makes properly modded civics so dangerous for straight line racing. I remember back in the 90's people made fun of civics where seeing the loud fart cans and the horrific underglow lights and body kits showing up to the races. Often, some of these guy woukd talk big money bets on a race and people were scared to race them. Mofos would be like yo what you got under the hood of that? Suddenly they were worried about what the ol fart can ricer burner had under the hood. Good times none the less.

Why is that impressive? A CVT is the most efficient way of putting power to the ground. Manuals fall off with gear changes and full autos do the same and suck even more power. A CVT always has the best mechanical advantage, even if they are kinda boring and overly hated.

@@slimv3.162 No, they by design give the most performance and mechanical advantage. Old cars had 3-4 gears, now many autos have as many as 10. CVT has infinite gears. It will always be able to configure a "ratio" to best put the power down. You just like changing gears. Many people do.

Hondas 1.5 is a beast. Honda purposely didn't raise stock hp for long term reliablty . The 1.5 and 2.0 turbo's from Honda are very good. Also, the CVT in a inhouse Honda design and built unit

@@Porsche4life flushing your cvt fluid often is important, use amsoil CVT fluid. If doing lots of racing etc change it often. Hondas CVTs are some of the best out there. I've personally only ever seen one fail, and it was on a CR-V with 150,000 miles and they had never changed the fluid.

After just putting in my PRL intake street version my CVT 1.5lt turbo it feels faster and that's just the beginning too, cant imagen how much faster if would feel if i did more to it. Well actually the red CVT just showed me what could happen if i did and he is now THE JESUS OF HONDA CVT'S.

This was expected for everyone shocked . That Civic has more HP and weighs 600 pounds less. No way it was losing to this BMW. Even in stock form these Versions of BMW are slow and even a stock SI can put up a decent fight on a roll

If that Bimmer was actually tuned to its maximum, as well as upgrades, i think the outcome would of been different and though close that Honda is basically maxed out. As far as that 1.5t engine and cvt paired up is concerned. Much more would take a fuel system upgrade and either an endless amount of cvts or swapped for manual or maybe the accords 10speed ? Don't even know if that would be possible was just exploring the options if any really . That cvt although strong is pushing its limit. When i push mine i cant help but get that feeling that " something is gonna give !!" lmao. I can't believe mine is still going strong at 210k and little under half of those spent tuned ! I've had other cvts and they are fragile, and you know it too or can feel it. Like its made of glass almost. This civic cvt leaves you feeling like its got more to give, and its never flinched or anything on me. Of course im not 300+ whp or torq! Now if this Bimmer was maxed i wonder what this might look like?

The 6 speed manual is slower than the CVT. But the Si is tuned a bit differently so it has a tad more power than a traditional 1.5t civic.

Okay coming from someone who now owns a G20 330 “B46” and 340 “B58” and also used to own a N54.. The n54&B58 FBO & tune had you way over 400hp while the 330 “which i just got tuned” by “Bootmod3 protuning freaks” on stage 1 93 it has me at 300hp and 330tq without any mods. You can even check the dinan website dyno Also these drivers have 0 seat time in these cars.. When first purchased my G20 i was curious on how quick it was so i raced my friends 10th gen 1.5 FBO civic with upgraded flywheel “so he was super lighter then me” and o was none stock and won by a bumper and then same outcome against my friends 2020 Veloster N both lighter cars

On that beemer Catless dps, JB4 and MHD backend flash would walk that civic. And yes that beemer is heavy due to that xDrive due to drivetrain loss. RWD 330i with all the above mentioned mods would be real fast. But that civic did a great job props to the owner

@@skee_sensei1428 nah we talkin about the LCI models and up with the B46 motor. 335i is n55 which we compare to the newer B58 on 340i.

The B46 doesn't have a back end flash. Yes the xDrive is heavier and thus slower, especially in a roll. I have a JB4 with a custom map 6 and my car does okay numbers (best 0-60 was 4.6s and quarter mile was 12.8xs). I have multiple 12.8-12.9s runs with my car. That is with just a JB4 and some ethanol (no other mods). I have a friend who has a G20 330i with the B48 (non American car) with upgraded turbo and FBO and WMI. He does 0-62 in like 3.8s and quarter mile in 11.9 or so iirc.
