How well has this 2015 Volkswagen GTI held up after 120,000 miles? And why I think it's the best fun daily car for around $15,000. Music: www.epidemicsound.com/referra... Follow Me: / imalsoandrew / imalsoandrewyt

In my 78 years of living, and driving about 62 of them, I gotta say my 2019 GTI S DSG is by far one of the best all around cars I have owned. It’s my daily driver, and my only vehicle at this time. Great performance, gas mileage, and fun. Out of all the cars I have owned, and there were many, my 1959 Peugeot 403 came close ! Thanks, RickGTI….. 🌴

Love my 2017 GTI (MK7) Autobahn DSG - Clark seats ( by choice ) They tried to push for leather but I was adamant for the classic GTI VW dealer wanted to buy it back in 2021…lol They called and asked on a few occasions. I still have it as my daily.

The mk7.5 gtis plaid seats were an option even if you got a autobahn trim. My buddy has a fully loaded 2018 GTI with the plaid seats.

It’s pretty expensive to do, but you can do a factory retrofit of the newer infotainment system, and even the digital gauges, and from a difficulty perspective, it is very easy. Those parts are a lot of money though, but the price that you could get a 2015 for might leave room to do those as well.
@AlsoAndrew8 ай бұрын
Yep, I've seen that done. It may also be cheaper to swap in the larger screen from the e-Golf, not sure.

What happened after 180
@bucknut200011 ай бұрын
@@roboticvenom1935 I think it was carbon clean up( normal), water pump, oil leak( it was like 700 USD), timing chain( very expensive), AC replaced. So it started about 180 but all of it was done within like 6 months. The CArbon I think expecting, I remember I went to fix the AC for like 2400 or so and left with an oil leak fix and new timing chain 2 weeks later. I was upset at the time, but the car has been fine I think. I really like that after allt hese years, the car still feels solid, very little creaking.
@St4vKa11 ай бұрын
Besides the oil leak, if you didn't change any of the rest by 180k they are completely normal, mechanical things need replacing after so many km
@kosta21773 ай бұрын
Thank you for sharing. Is that number 180k miles or kilometers?
@bucknut20003 ай бұрын
@@kosta2177 miles, the car is now at 234K miles. it does now a check engine light on it. the obd11 says catalytic converter and it has a number of misfires now, so IDK what to do with it. But it does drive fine. Im getting it checked out this week, ive sense bought a 24 golf r , but I still do like my GTI.

i bought my GTI in the US at the end of 2020. 2016 SE. I have thought about getting something new but I have a really hard time finding something of equal or around the same value. For $16k (with 40k miles on it) I don't know what else I would buy that would even come close! Sure, I can maybe get something better, but not for $16k! Sticking with it until I have enough money for a used Golf R some day :)
