The casting in this film was top notch. You're motivated to hate the sketchy characters who tried to take advantage of Ray, you're sympathetic to the 2 guys who got his career started when he decided to go big with ABC, and of course the women who got involved with him.

Anyone who's ever been involved with the music business gets how real this scene is. From rehearsal to the end of a show or a studio session many great artists are great, and the rest of the time they're on substances, arguing with there baby mamas, in a surly and insecure head space and treating people terribly.

She was correct. Even though she was being petty about Ray leaving his wife for her, she hit the nail on the head, he already gave up his wife and son a long time ago and she realized as well she would be done the same way, but luckily Ray woke up

I’ve replayed the part form 0:38 to 1:02 soooo many times. What a voice they both have. Goosebumps every time. This is the scene that made me watch the whole thing

99.9% sure that it was Ray Charles himself, the tip-off is the "that's it baby" he says as Regina sings her part. There were a few scenes where Jamie is singing (e.g., "I Got a Woman"), but they used Ray's voice as much as possible in the music.

Sadly he doesnt actually sing in the movie, he perfectly lip sings though which is still amazingly impressive They used old studio recordings and live performances from ray himself.

I have one concert regret. I had the chance to see Ray Charles in a small venue in 2003 in Northern Colorado and gave my tickets away because family came to town unexpectedly. What an amazing artist.
