Hi, Friends today we are taking you on Tungareshwar Trek, so before we start let's know some facts.
Tungareshwar is a mountain plateau situated between Virar and Vasai. It is a dense forest region - in the monsoon, the surroundings are lush and green and interspersed with flowing waterfalls. At an altitude of about 2,177 feet, it is a popular destination for trekkers. In a bid to improve the habitat for animals, and safeguard more territory for predators such as leopards, Tungareshwar was declared a wildlife sanctuary in 2003.
Apart from trekking, many tourists come here for Bird watching & also to Take Blessings of Tungareshwar Mahadev & also Balyogi Sadanand Maharaj. During the Month of Shravan & Mahashivratri, you can find a heavy rush of devotees here, but the most popular activity here is to take a bath in a natural waterfall that is located near the main temple. Now there is one more artificial waterfall that was created by management for senior citizens & Small kids because the main waterfall is very difficult to access as there are big rocks coming along the way.
