Do not use the EAV and ES during tuning of radar. You should get a good picture without that turned on. GAIN should be adjusted so you have a slight amount of seaclutter visible, so you dont loose small targets. Then you adjust the Sea-clutter to eliminate unwanted signals. refering to Operators Manual about adjusting sensitivity.

Thnku very much for ur comment. I highly appreciate :) U r right :) But EAV helps u to diminish or remove all those unwanted or false echoes, EAV actually averages echoe appearing on PPI, so remove unwanted and false echoes, so its helpful.

@@merchantshipsknowledge3941 Absolutely, its very helpful but can also be dangerous if you dont know the functionality of it. EAV calculates if a certain ehoes appears on same position twice, then it flags it as an echo and raise the echolevel. Differently on EAV1, EAV2 and 3... With EAV 2 the limitation is that you can loose fast going vessels because the radar thinks its seaclutter. (moving to fast and not in same calculated position) Keep up the work!

COG= Course over Ground. SOG= Speed over Ground. You can find these two on your Doppler Log.
