Think of Tunisian crochet like it's own craft; a hybrid between knitting and crochet. With it you can create stitches that look like crochet, and you can create stitches that look like knitting, but you can also create completely unique stitches. Here are three stitches you should know.

I've crocheted for many years, just started making chemo hats, & decided to try Tunisian crochet, thinking I could make more hats in less time. I feel like I'm 10 years old again, sitting with Nana on the porch just trying to get started. Your video is a great help, thank you.

Thank you so much for this video! I'm new to all these stitches in Tunisian Crochet. You're a great teacher! 😊❤ I'm limited to how much I can crochet, but looking forward to making these it might take me awhile. Thanks😊❤

Very very good teaching! I am an experienced crocheter, but have been reluctant to try Tunisian. I don't know if my old hand-eye-brain can manage to pick this up in the end, but I can't imagine a clearer demonstration than this. Thank you!

I am so so happy to look at your video for the first time. I saw that in crocheting I have a BIG DEFAULT: instead to do like you do to roll your crochet between your fingers, I was turning my complete wrist!! But, now, I will change cuz I will have wrist problem in the future!! Thank you so much!

Tunisian crochet is the most relaxing thing! I love making entrelac blankets with cotton fabric backing :) But I've never tried any stitch other than the simple stitch. Thank you! ( Could you maybe show how to decrease and increase while working these stitches, please?)

I don't find it relaxing at all. It requires more attention than knitting. I can knit lace, cabling, double sided, fair isle or anything without even looking and the same goes for regular crochet, but even the Tunisian simple stitch actually requires me to actively watch what I'm doing meaning. I can't read whilst doing it, only watch television or listen to audio. The only thing I like it for is enterlac or small projects of 50 stitches and below. Also I don't really like working on the same line twice. Tunisian crochet is nice due to the thickness but I find it annoying and stressful as a crochet-knitter for 23 years.

You can definitely use corded hooks, especially if you already have them! I just recommended a single straight hook for someone just wanting to dabble and give it a try :)

I cannot tell the difference between where you put the needle in the second stitch pattern in the third stitch pattern. They both look like they’re going behind that vertical bar and I can’t see the difference.😢

One is between the two posts and working from the back to pull the yarn over back to the front and one is in the space before the posts also working from the back and pulling forward. I hope that makes sense

I don’t see how the knit stitch and the full stitch are different. Both are going to the back
@dianewassell7693
@dianewassell7693 4 ай бұрын
Wiggle your hook to the right side of the front post and you’ll see each post has a front and back. For knit stitch your hook will go in between the front and back. For full stitch your hook will go in the space between the posts. Hope this helps.

Tunisian crochet may be easy and relaxing...BUT ...the curling of the ends is horrible and blocking is only a temporary fix. The time, effort and money put into any Tunisian project is not worth the result.
@bhookedcrochet
@bhookedcrochet 2 жыл бұрын
The curling is unfortunate. I usually try to incorporate the curled edges in a seam whenever possible!
