At his best, Pac was operating on a different level. Most people never understood how his Thug Life persona was a device for reaching disaffected youth who are used to being preached to, and who reflexively tune it out. This poetry, what real fans call Reality Rap, can be heard in other songs of his. Check out his catalogue. More 90s Reality Rap: Geto Boys "My Mind's Playing Tricks On Me"; Too Short "The Ghetto", and Naughty By Nature "Everything's Gonna Be Alright".

Thanks for that reaction. Maybe it's just my own ignorance, but I can't help but feel that Tupac is kind of like Shakespeare, in a way: a name that everyone knows and reveres (or feel like they have to anyway, by convention), but whose work very few people actually know -- kind of like that old Mark Twain quote: "A classic is something everybody wants to have read, but no one wants to read."

I've been seeing this trend on KZfaq recently where the youth are starting to have a positive reaction to real music , I'm loving it because you all just might bring real Hip Hop Back to its roots! I don't think of myself as an old head , the term B boy or B girl should be used instead ! that's when you've mastered all the elements of Hip Hop Rap, Graffiti, turntablism_ (DJ) and Breakdancing! don't just go back to the 90s Go all the way back to the 70s and work your way up from groups like Cold Crush ,the Fantastic romantics, Grandmaster flash and the furious 5, Sha rock , one of the baddest female MCs , she was in a group called the funky 4 +1! anyway God Bless you lil Sis keep doing ya thing and pass it along! oh you might want to check out Jean grae_ and the Lady of Rage, you know her as Baby D in the movie next Friday! peace sis✌️

Wow, I love your reaction. I'm getting older and 90s hip hop and rap is what music I love most. You've gotten me into a lot of metal that I wouldn't have known about otherwise. I think what's cool is that society would never guess between the 2 of us our personal preferences. I'd definitely love to go back in my faves of 90s rap or hip hop and see if I find anything I think would move you. This is a cool experiment!! 💕💖💕

2Pac was unique because he was honest. There are no other honest rappers out there. . The reason is, they weren't afraid to put their weak side, their emotional side out there. Every other rapper is always talking about how great they are, calling themselves God and such. Jimmy Hendrix never called himself the greatest, or even great, everyone else did.

::hands you a tissue:: Check out Tupac's "Keep Ya head Up." Pac was a great lyricist and poet. Check out Ice Cube's "No Vaseline" if you want to hear a good diss song. It's was about his old group N.W.A. and their manager.

Pac is easily the greatest rapper of all time, and one of the greatest pure artists to ever exist in history. There are college courses devoted to studying him and his works. Read the rose that grew from concrete. I would recommend "wonder why the call you a bitch." Brutal song to listen to but it shows why Pac is truly the greatest hip hop artist to ever live.
