Tupac's 1994 Interview: Vulnerability and Truth

There's a realness to Tupac-his honesty, his charm, and how his mind seems to shine even when things get tough. As I listened, I found myself riding a rollercoaster of emotions. It's truly eye-opening. Tupac didn't just speak; he shared the struggles and hopes of a generation so vividly, it felt like he was inviting us into his world, word by word. And it was both beautiful and incredibly sad, how openly he talked about personal pain and bigger issues in society. His openness is something you don't come across often, and it felt like a gift.
But what really stuck with me wasn't just the depth of his words; it was the hard truths he laid bare about our world-the cycles of violence and neglect that too many know all too well. Tupac, with his way of seeing the world, stripped away the shiny exterior to reveal the stark, raw truths beneath. His honesty was jarring, a wake-up call asking us to see beyond the surface.
It felt personal, listening to him, like he was sharing secrets and showing us the world through his eyes. And even though it was uncomfortable, it was also necessary, pushing me to think more deeply about the world around us.

Sadly the ghetto culture both in the black community Latin community and white Community are detrimental to those very communities this is what Tupac said in 1995 when he got out of prison with death row. He said the true job of a rapper is to be the reporter of the street to get what's happening on the street into the world so those with a position of power can do something about it.

His mom was a black panther with the heart of a god damn Lion. Everything you associate about Tupac's character that made him the charismatic and concious person he was, came from this woman. Even her flaws deeply affected his character i.e drug use and lying about his father. When Tupac spoke, people listened...he grew up hearing his mother speak at Panther rallies. The way he crafted his words, the way he moved people, his political awareness and overwhelming charisma came from Afeni. Even Ed Gordan was completely in shocked and amazed you can see it str8 in his face. The same reason how he can go deep in his lyrics when he say anything you just felt him. His songs like unconditional love, Dear mama, It ain’t easy or So many Tears and many of his give me goosebumps and tears ttd I love pac for a simple fact that he helped me through my worst days just listening to his music. Like no other his raw uncut deep energy is unmatched Basically everything there was to love about Pac were, in part, products of the admiration and love he had for his mother. RIP Afeni Shakur RIP Tupac Shakur Beautiful video Keep up the good work ma’am Excellent, God bless 🙏🏿

What I noticed most was how he didn’t blame his mother for the absence of his father. He didn’t emphasize coming from a single mom--he said he had an absentee dad. He knew not to blame the women who stayed and did their best to rise the children. He understood.
@AviatorsVEVO
@AviatorsVEVO 4 ай бұрын
clearly you didn't see the interview with his father where he revealed it was 100% his mother's fault that he wasn't able to be in tupac's life & that he was hurt that her lies caused tupac to write a song slandering him for being an absentee father when she was strung out on drugs, prevented tupac's father from being there & it was all her fault. everybody loves to blame it on the man when a lot of the time, it is the mother's fault. its crazy how quick you were to take the woman's side without all the information. in society, blaming the man for everything seems to be everyone's default setting smh.

@@newme1813 his dad was a street dude and had nothing extra to offer him. As an adult He did not blame the parent that tried her best (even with her demons) to take care of him. We need to remember one thing sir and that is this we are all one of one. But sadly the psychology of humanity in The Human Condition and you ask anyone who has studied the social sciences or psychology and no matter what side of the fence they dip on more of the left wing or more of the right wing of things in politics, you will find we all agree that out of 100 people you'll be lucky to find one or two with true leadership capacity. There are probably more higher than that in numbers but it's latent in them and they're not acting on it maybe because of societal pressures today there is too much pressure of being a follower and a follower or a follower of what I ask. I love Tupac a lot he was not a racist he loved other races and white folks as much as he loved his own race and he hated elements of other races as much as he hated elements of his own race. He wanted to talk about the dirt that's in the ghettos and it's the same filth that's in the black girl that is in Latin ghettos and Asian ghettos and white ghettos and whatever other ghettos you can find, he put it out on record so that was in a position of power could act on these things and hopefully do some things that was right for a positive change. Can we look at today you have black lives matter that had literally scammed the black community of hundreds of millions of dollars and their leaders a bunch of black lesbian Marxist living in nothing but white gated communities of the Super Rich With Private police that they hire white police and white security with all the cameras in their communities but at the same time these Hypocrites want to defund the police in the poor black communities with the very same problems at Tupac said in this interview that makes black people scared of other blacks and that is the psychopaths in the black community just like the white people are scared of the psychopaths in the white Community etcetera etcetera with these comments that Tupac made sadly today is it any reason to think twice why people don't think he's the greatest of all time anymore and why people some people will even call him a sell-out again and working for white supremacy because of the fact he wanted to improve black lives not through victimhood and guilt trips by teaching them how to make money for themselves and their own families. He put so many people on the game and helped break bread with them and all before social media and more so than that before the internet was actually widespread in people's homes because that didn't happen for another 10 years and people nowadays find it hard to believe there was a generation not too long ago that did not have ready access to the internet or computer in their own homes and what you say today in some ghetto schools where you've got one or two computers for the entirety of the school that's you was lucky if you had one or two computers in your entire school back in the 1990s.

There are two types of fans about 2pac. His beautiful & immortal songs followers and then those who discovered the authenticity of his wisdom. Pac’s thinking was far ahead of his age and time.

Now all the young 20 yr old Gen Z'rs make this look unbearable, because there's not "ONE" that could take the handle and lead like this. I'm glad i was in my late teens bumpin and listening to the "GOLDEN" ErA" of Rap, Hip Hop" and Rnb! Just like my folks and Elvis and Marvin Gaye!💯💯💯💯💯

That why we loved 2pac RIP the only Rapper that kept it 💯 through the good and bad and he exposed the industry and Rappers, producers they been trying too kill 2pac spirit but he always bounced back. That where Pimp C got his OG Mentality from. But Death Row East would been that fire 🔥 Biggie R.I.P , Nas, Trech, Scarface dam 2pac RIP n DMX RIP would of been scary, Pimp C RIP, Jadakiss, Lox and all the others legend Rappers that would of change the game without any sacrifice or booty bandit

Facts it's traumatizing living in the hood, surrounded by murders happening in daylight and overnight. We just want to live a better life, a community life, a life when where we are not considered a criminal. We grow up broke as a family but still make it.

You watching the man who saved my life. I wouldve literally d*ed if it had not been for Tupac. I believed in him and he impacted my life forever so I will never look at him as just a rapper. The wisdom he had, and the motivation he gave me and the books he read...he changed my life. I will always be aware of the world because of him

Love Tupac to this day. And I miss his spirit. I'm 45 now. Pac helped me get thru my teenage years. He knew he was making that impact on young black males and he told us he was speaking to and for us. I was devastated when he passed. I wanted to see him win.

This was one of my favourite interviews. Tupac showed all sides regardless of his moods, and energy, he knows how to articulate his thoughts and have us a picture of what he is saying because he was a critical thinker and communicator. He said he wanted to College, he wasn't planning to be a rapper etc. His life was taken so soon. I like your reactions/reflections as well.

Don't allow people to tell you how to think etc. They are upset that they don't have the guts to record and reflect the way you do. It's good to see his videos are still helping folks understand about things. I do think things today 2024 have changed so much and his videos are still relevant today .. speaks volume.

Never feel bad about someone else's ignorance. I've learned over the years that some people always feel the need to be right, or be heard. The fact that you're trying to honestly understand a culture that's not your own says a lot about who you are as a person. The negative comments are exactly what he's talking about. Keep your head up! Tupac.

He was my favorite rap artist and will be until...the black community raised in poverty/thuglife,,we understood,we all could relate! It's all about survival at the ending of the day!! He mentioned the anger that comes after pride when one gets paid from their job after a few checks. The anger that you can't help others because you can barely take care of your own shows me how much the depth of this man was misunderstood.

Thank you for checking out our GREAT KING Tupac Amaru he still lives through Generation X and there is not a day that passes that I do not think of him and his mother and family for that matter. If he were alive today the world would be BETTER, and because of him I still feed homeless people and give them money and care for the elderly. That was who Tuoac really was. The Prison Interview I highly recommend and his book of poetry "The Rose that Grew from Concrete" .......... God bless you for looking into who he really was- Heath
