Yeah, when I got to that part... I was like... "dude, you're in traffic, not going anywhere fast" My second thought was, "clearly a piston engine driver, upshifting way too soon" Driver: Rotary powerplants do not LIKE low engine speeds. Get the revs up before you foul the plugs!!! Edit: highway runs proper... OH there we go..

Upgrading to a sequential is like when I went from a 600cc to a 1000cc with a quick shifter. It doesn't seem right to just stay on the gas but those instant shifts are unreal.

Very cool my man, very cool. To your point of the fun you feel in not having to lift, I felt the same when I installed the quickshifter on my ZX-14. It's a different sensation and different experience for sure. Well done to all who helped on the build and the video.

Hi Devin, I just wanted to say in 2014 I tried to buy a black ZX14 with(gulp) NITROUS OXIDE and an ignition interrupt shifter for full throttle gear changes and the guys he rode with said 70-90 mph black stripes on highway were effortless. I drooled over it but sadly 😥 couldn't raise the 5500.00

I commented this years ago, and i'll do it again: This is the most savage RX7 build on the planet. There have been some sick 4 rotor stuff in NZ and Australia, but this FD is just properly mad. For one you still respect the classic Mazda shape, but the insides are just demented and so well executed.

@@jaxendavis737 I have followed Rob's build for ages, we actually added each other on facebook 7 years ago and chatted quite a bit. The big difference is his is far from finished. Both are absolutely insane, but this FD is actually street driven and tracked. Rob's build is far from finished so it's hard to compare. once it's a finished product, the amount of hours Rob put in his project will no doubt be rewarded.

I think that it more like less money to have the same kind of power band with a 4rotor cause maybe a f1 engine have a more wider power band but with so muck precision and enginnering to make a v8 redline at like 12 000rpm not like a 4 rotor with ligthweith rotor

@@butwait you can hear it, the transmission shifts from peak horsepower to peak torque. Damn thing barely winds up before he has to shift again. While Mazzei's 4rotor is climbing up about 3000 rpm from the shift to shift.

@@trillrifaxegrindor4411 What I meant by that was I've never messed with a rotary before, therefore I'm not a rotary guy. I've built several different kinds of piston engines, I just don't have experience with rotary engines. That being said, this is still my favorite car around (as stated in my original comment). A lot of time and effort went into this project and continues to get better. As a motorsports enthusiast, I can appreciate any car/build if it's done properly 👍
