Before you use that turbo, that engine has to be gone through. Can't just slap a turbo on a stock jeep engine because you might run the risk of blowing the head gasket or bending piston rods. Unless you plan on running low boost.

I run the same exact turbo kit with some other modifications. Bigger turbo, spilt second fuel/ timing, bigger cam, bigger fuel pump and injectors. 12 psi around 350hp to the wheels, also threw in a ford 8.8 with trutrac as well

4.0L engine's are good for the most part and will run a long time. Some years had bad cylender head castings and are known to crack and Warp. I also know that the ecm is a barrier so you will need to get a piggyback but I'm sure you already knew all this

well do you have a tune for the jeep? since the ecu won't be able to know where the hell all the air is coming from and won't remap itself to run a bit richer.

In addition to whatever else, the intercooler will need airflow and an oil cooler on the turbo, oil return could be a good thing... Good Luck on the project.

Cons: Too much heat to the IAT sensor, so the PCM pulls timing. This results in neat noise but little power gains if any at all. Stock with proper timing makes more power than a turbo with timing pulled due to high IATs. That air to air cooler isn’t helping anything. For a TJ, you want a water to air HE in the grill to a top mount IC. That’s been the magic for me.

you can actually linex the whole jeep and instead of worrying about paint you won't ever have to deal with chipping or scratches and it lasts forever.

jep cooller in front of engine so air blows in straith to that if you keep it over engine you need big big BIG scoope to get cold air in there

did you drive the Jeep at all when or after you installed the modified controller? drove it for at least a week? just sayin

your turbo manifold is warped where it come into contact with the turbo. You will most likely will need to get a new manifold or it could cause a major headache where it is not making boost. You can see it is not sitting flush with turbo turbine housing.

So rather than a new tub, boat side the thing, gets rid of the rusty body work and you gain additional clearance that will actually do something other than hang you up on the rocks. Look up Wrangler boat sides.

Rocky mountains here you come! Just run the exhaust through the hood. No muffler. A turbo is considered a noise cancelling device.

On the cost benefit analysis of the tub swap you forgot to factor in the time and frustration of every bracket, fastener, and all the wiring being transferred to the new tub. How is the charge cooler supposed to cool when it is sitting on top of the hottest part of the engine? Seems like you didn't get a well thought out turbo kit.

I'd look up how much floor pans cost if they have them and cut out the old ones and weld in the new ones

You have to get lower compression pistons and better rods if u wanna put any boost over 10 pounds in that thing .

Why are you going down in height with the body lift?

Turbo inner cooler goes in front of the radiator where it can get cool air to cool the air inside the inner cooler. Behind the engine is the hot air.

what did you do about fueling?

Really should have that drain pipe in the pan facing up toward the top instead of angled down, its going to cause oil to pool in the drain hose.

put this same kit on my 99 jeep had to put 40lb injectors and a map sensor that would read boost and tune it this thang will rip had no issues yet

Probably should of test drove it to see if it runs good before the turbo was put on lol.

I thought intercoolers were supposed to be mounted in front of the radiator so that the air would be cooled before going into the engine, with it sitting on top of the engine in an area where there is no cool air how is that going to cool down the air going into the engine? I also agree with other commentators here on this post you will need to go through the engine and make sure it will be able to handle the extra pressure coming from that turbo and you will require a retune on that ECU for the turbo to be efficient and for you to get the power that you are looking for.

You better pony up and get a legit wideband gauge so you at least know when to lift so you don't melt it down. If that kit has a cheap wastegate you may have to get a real one to manage low levels of boost

Before you run it, don’t forget to get it tuned

Make sure you use synthetic oil because turbos can burn regular oil
