The turf is nicer for the dogs to play on and you dont have patches of pee running everywhere

I have turf on my balcony. Its better to walk on than the cement. Its nice an plush especially after rainfall. I also have veggies, flowers and herbs on my balcony.

When done properly the grass is friendly to the dogs and children. Not everyone is a mechanic

Thank you. I am so worried about the bees and other insects around their. That lawn is a dessert for them. Love to read, that there are options. I mowed our grass yesterday and it was soooo exhausting.

Same here in Las Vegas, but because of low maintenance almost all newly built houses use them.

@@Mijah1016That’s horrifying. These lawns are horrible for the local ecosystem and they end up in landfills in a few years anyways. There’s too many natural, low to no maintenance alternatives to be using plastic on the lawn.

The rain washes the pee, in the summer if it starts smelling I water mine down. They do sell a product that is made for cleaning the turf and smell. I have a small dog so mine isn’t bad. Also the turf doesn’t hold water so the pee just goes underneath into the crushed rock or dirt.

Fake turf doesn’t have a solid base on it (solid V enough that grаss won’t grow through it but still has drainage)

Every time I’ve been at someone’s house that has turf AND they have dogs there is an overwhelming smell of pee. Sometimes I think the owners don’t realize it or something.

The smell will be there. I used to work as a vet tech, and as a kennel technician that’s pee smell will never go away unless you get something that is biodegradable or sold at the vet office.

I used to live in Arizona and it made me hate turf even more. You can feel the heat absolutely *radiating* off of it and it reeked of burning plastic

Funny, all the people here who actually have it or have friends with the Astro turf say it does not.

Yes this is supposed to be done and it’s now causing dogs to get sick it local dog parks because of the poop and pee is not being properly washed out of it and it’s getting into their feet etc. and make them very sick.

I use a bucket water with antibacterial solution, then use a yard brush, then every couple months, we scrub and jet wash. Best thing we did the dogs ruined or normal grass, so the best thing we ever did

@@anneonnamouse5496 it disperses it into the rocks and sand below the turf through the drainage system. These are like real patios, they have to drain.

We rescue and foster German shepherds, so I know they poop like rhinos 😂 if it's a runny one, I use a bucket water with antibacterial solution like detol with and use a yard brush then every couple months we give it a good scrub and jet wash it. Having different dogs with different personality so they ruined our grass, but we've had turf for 6 years. The best decision we made no more digging or pulling the grass up playing
