This the shit that make a real one shed a tear, this video ain't about dancing, it's about mentally escaping a place you are physically in. East Oakland is as tragic as it gets, they filmed this after one of their Patna's got murdered, you can feel their pain. Oakland made me tough but I'm glad I don't live there no more. If you from the hood, it's the goal is simple, get out and give back

This reminds me of a mixture of popping and locking, breakdancing, and the robot with a little bit of how flexible one can be all put into one. The 80's were great! Now they are putting all of this together and it's wonderful to see! I hope it goes far!💜💜💜

i am obsessed with this. i lost my best friend this year to too much hard partying and it cought up with his body.. but he was SUCH a liquid looking dancer. we used to go to drum and bass clubs in DC in 2000-2001 and him and his brother were doing dances like this...so fluid...telling stories... the footwork was NOT as dope as this. but they were amazing and no lie would have the WHOLE place standing around watching them... they were trained martial artist too....dunno if that had anything to do with it.. . when i saw when i this vid put to the dubstep songs.... i bout lost it... man i miss my friend. he woulda got SO pumped to see this. so much respect guys. That was Beautiful. I don't really care who started this dance, but I love seeing my young brothers in a positive way. There is nothing like taking your gifts and doing something productive with it. Keep up the good work gentleman. Also the negative feedback from arguing amongst each other is not call for. If you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all. If you have negative feedback from looking at this video stop watching it and move to the next video that's it. Its sad that when young people are trying to do something positive with their lives we have people who stepped in and just have to say something negative about it. Just saw this on FB...I gotta share this... these kids are something to watch... no banging and violent moves... just poetry in motion to music in their heads... tha'ts how we used to do it when it 1st came out in the 70's.. them work on group moves and timing..this made me smile... good to see it in this venue/media... peace

Come back every so often! I was 14 when this first came out! Growing up in the Netherlands in rotterdam, we have the highest crime rate and we all look for a way to express ourselves, mine became dancing after this! Much blessings

the video that started it all. while there can be no singular video, it was definitely a video that sent subversive shock waves through the digital world and tapped into my core. it made me want to pick up a camera and express myself more than ever. a cultural reset that truly altered my brain chemistry. i think this video impacted art, culture and the internet in profound ways. not to mention one of the rawest, most beautiful depictions of modern dance i've ever felt. the quick doses of power moves that don't detract but add to the technical dancing. the music, the dance, the culture, the rain, the passion, the pain. still hits. chills, always.
