Very well executed i learned some new tricks as well, my doubt though looking at the solution it might fail at some point bases on the constraints i think there hasn't been any provision for the first one in the solution, when the string is more than 100 there should be an edge case to return back from the operation. Correct me if am wrong please. Also i completed Turing test it took me about 6 months to complete an pass about 8 tests including the coding challenge and i did speak to someone from Turing as well as well but almost three months no match message for me. I pray i get matched. All the best

Normally in a test like this, the constraint is meant in a way that you don't need to worry, in this case of string length, all tests will be having a string more or equal to 1 and less or equal to 100. In a real world application, checking those would be a must. And again, congratulations on passing the tests.

It is for micromanagement fans and begginers only. This is not a real situation. If a programmer get time to work without talking and camera, he/she delivers much better solution.

What's the minimum score to pass the coding challenge? Does it have to be 80 or 90% or even 100%? Or 60 or 70% is enough?

Hi Mathews, Thanks for getting in touch :) The odds of junior developers getting hired are definitely lower, since 80% of Turing's partner companies in the U.S require at least 3 years of work experience. We however routinely hire strong developers with 0-3 years experience for internal roles within Turing (and for roles with the remaining 20% of Turing's partner companies that are open to hiring developers with little to no experience as long as they are exceptionally skilled and talented). So if you are a junior developer who signs up and does very well in our tests, you'll definitely be considered for internal roles at Turing and roles with the minority of our partner companies who are open to hiring strong developers with less experience. -Turing

This is how powerful python is, here is a very simple and short function that does the same thing : def most_repetitive(word): word_without_numbers = ''.join([i for i in word if not i.isdigit()]) # I will take out all the numbers in the string letters_indices = [] for i in word_without_numbers: letters_indices.append(word_without_numbers.count(i)) char = word_without_numbers[letters_indices.index(max(letters_indices))] return char Thanks for the video though, very interesting
