Great video. And you’re absolutely right, TSS is worth every penny. A buddy of mine was complaining about the price of them one day. I mentioned to him that he doesn’t bat an eye to spend $45 on a 3 pack of mechanical broadheads….. He kind of scratched his head and said, never thought of that.🤣😂

I have never had a problem with Longbeard XR’s. And I shoot them in my 12 gauge. I shoot tss in my 20. I probably won’t shoot that 12 gauge anymore unless I need a backup.

For a budget shell LBXR are great. $30 for 10 and with good choke 50 yards kills are not a problem. But I’m shooting tss also. I have both

I agree, and I tried to put out there that for the price the rem shells did awesome. I would 100% shoot a turkey at 40 with it. I guess my point was if you have 20$ extra to spend, the benefit of TSS far outweighs the cost

@@pdoutdoors1506 tss is awesome. Great patterns. Boss is reasonable but now for 3 or 3 1/2 some companies are up to close to $70 for 5 shells. That part is getting a little touchy

@@pdoutdoors1506 yes they are great shells, have you tried the LBXR? On my 835 with patternmaster code black turkey .665 with #4 hold a very tight pattern. My 935 has a Jebs .655 and 45 yards they are great also

Great logical reasoning when it comes to price. People have 2k setups and want tss patterns but don’t want to pay a few extra bucks for the shell. Mind blowing. great video. 🇺🇸

Here's the problem of 12ga TSS VS 12ga copper plated lead $2.50 a shot for lead VS $13-$15 a shot for TSS And it's not just the initial minimum of 500%-600% more cost per shell for TSS VS lead you have to also factor in the additional costs of: #1 First the initial cost of shooting how ever many X amont of TSS shells finding the correct choke your TSS shells of choice works best with #2-Once you have figured out which choke will give you maximum performance now you have to shoot more TSS shells sighting in your gun and once that's done.... #3-The additional cost in shells of patterning your gun at 40 then at least 50 yards to insure your guns POA matches its POI so you can hunt and take only ethical shots When you're all done setting your gun up to perform at its maximum potential with TSS your cost in shells and AM chokes alone can easily exceed $200 if not much closer to $300 because if we are being honest the only reason 9/10 guys who shoot 12ga TSS shells is to be able to kill a Tom at distances beyond 45 yards as any 12ga 3" or 3.5" lead turkey load sold by Winchester or Remington will kill any Turkey stone dead at 45 yards or under. At distances of 45 yards or less 12ga TSS is a waist of money and for those turkey hunters who have no intentions or desire to take shots at turkeys over 45 yards TSS is totally unnecessary. I personally did a SbS pattern test of 12ga 3" 1.75oz #5 WLBXR VS 12ga 3.5" 2oz #5 WLBXR at 45 yards out of both my 870 ESM and Benelli Supernova using Carlson's WLBXR choke and the 3" shells performed just as good as the 3.5" Now at 50 yards and beyond the 3.5" shells came into their own and out performed the 3" enough to justify choosing 3.5" WLBXR shells over the 3" version

@@dr.schultz4104 Hope you get to go, and have a great experience. Its the best drug ever........massive endorphin dump. I have almost 150 gobblers under my belt, and I still can hear and feel my heartbeat in my throat when a gobbler gets close and starts drumming. The day I seal the deal on a gobbler, and I'm not excited about it, will be the day I take up watching grass grow. 😂 My 10 year old got his first one last year, and after the shot, he just kinda slumped over. I asked if he was ok, and he said, 'Yeah, I think I might puke though, because my heart is about to beat out of my chest! Is that normal, Dad?' I couldn't help but laugh a lil, and reassured him it was perfectly normal. Haha!!

your logic doesn't add up. those are both dead birds at 40 yards. i have to ask the question why did you spend 5x the money on the tss shell to achieve the same result (dead turkey)?

@@pdoutdoors1506 well you attempted to, that is the reason i commented that your logic doesn't add up. you said that just because you over paid for one thing (used gun as example) means you might as well over pay for everything. you will never get get ahead with that way of thinking.

@@yourmomma2995 Where the TSS really shines is in the "sub" gauges. I call TSS the great equalizer because you can drop to 28,20,&16 gauges and .410 bore and outperform lead in a 12 gauge or even a 10 gauge. To each their own but carrying a 20 gauge all day and less recoil than a 12 is the cats meow. Example...how many 12 gauge patterns using lead can put 340 pellets in a 10" circle ? My 20 gauge does this using a #9 TSS load and hits harder than lead #5s. His logic adds up completely for alot of folks. Try it out.

Both dead birds at 40. Why pay 8x the price for the same end result at 40 yards. Both are killing the bird. Only reason for TSS in my opinion is for shooting birds way further than you should.

100% both dead birds. I’ve only taken one bird in my life past 50 and it was because I misjudged the yardage in an open field. I feel like I’m paying for a cleaner kill, and more assurance of a positive impact with more payload.

If you make a perfect shot… 1-2 inches off and there’s a good chance the Remingtons wound that bird, you’ve got a huge margin for error with the Boss shells
