Please what is the name of this plant leaves ☘️ you are giving them? And do they need to be trained to eat green leaves?
@abdulnassertajudeen81905 ай бұрын
this is called taro. but in Uganda it's mostly called obukopa (hard yams) because the tubers it produces are very small and hard. other taro species produce much bigger tubers which are also tender, tasty and nutritious, but the one in the video is best for animal feed coz it produces very many leaves and survives even in hard conditions.

It's a variety of greens. Sometimes you have to train them to get used .

Which other green leaves are good for them?
@africanturkeys6 ай бұрын
Green grass, banana leaves and sweet potato leaves.

Sweet potato leaves are great feed because they comes from a different family but be weary of Irish potato or tomato greens. I'm sure these farmers know all about it but if you're asking about your own backyard livestock be weary of nightshades.

turkeys can eat a variety of green including elephant grass when it's grated in tender form. but you can try comfrey, duckweed, aloevera, palm grass, black jack, sissoo spinach, banana leaves, water weed, water hyacinth, comelina difussa, sweet potato leaves, etc

Mine I tried to give them they did not eat

You might want to have them stay indoors for a bit and target when they are hungry. If they have more options of greens outside, they might not be familiar with other leaves. But when they are hungry they get used to and eat them, then they will not stop
