My favorite cast on for toe up socks! I use this technique in both Fluorite and Tuku Honey!

I followed your video as you went along and I was able to replicate exactly what you were doing. thank you so much. I went to a class before the pandemic and gave up and did not make socks as this first part was so poorly explained and we were left to basically figure it out on our own. I love to knit and now socks are next for me.

Thanks for sharing this with us. I like your 'calm' you bring through the video. I am VERY new to knitting, and always seem to be a bit tense, yet, in my style. I am doing portuguese knitting, at this time, and learning the other ways of holding the yarn. I have been a crocheter for eons (or so it seems), so picking up knitting needles was not a natural progression for me. Not exactly sure why, but it is what it is. Thanks again for your knitting lessons.

Game changer for me!! I just found this from other podcasters referring to it as the best toe-up cast on. 100% will use this for my first toe-up sock pair!

The only thing that would make this better is if you would use a heavier weight yarn so some of these older people like me (who can’t see like we used to) could see it a little better. This is a great cast on.

For those of us who do Portuguese style knitting, check out Andrea's video on Turkish Cast-on PURLWISE -- it puts the yarn where we need it for Portuguese-style knit stitch! 😀

Thank you for this great tutorial! I was wondering how to cast on two at a time. Would that be possible with this cast on? Thank you 😊

This cast done is a lot easier than the other one because you don’t have to worry about getting in the back. But I’m using such small metal needles that they’re so slippery. I’m having a devil of a time hanging onto everything. I don’t know if my hands are too old, but everything seems so slippery, so I barely get past the second round but I will get there.

I need to cast on 95 sts. How many times would I wrap my yarn around both needles? Thank you

Enjoyed your Turkish cast on video. If I have a project requiring an odd number of stitches how many times would I wrap my yarn over the the needle?

Is your working yarn on bottom or top needle at beginning position after completing your first row? Thank you.

Hi Andrea, I keep ending up with one less stitch on my second needle (the needle I'm knitting into second). Do you know why this would be?

Love this cast on!. Your tattoos are cool, just a little distracting because I was trying to see what they are😁. Live your calm quiet voice. Great video.
