This clip features the Ad Astra 20" China Ride. This cymbal has exceptional qualities not commonly found in other "China-Type" designs.
The hammering and intense burning process along with the shallow china curvature creates a sound which is earthy and washy with a dark and enduring sustain, the "ahhh......... character".
It is compelling and intense at any dynamic level, excellent for dramatic swells and pronounced attacks. As well a fantastic characteristic of this China is that it can be played with ride cymbal articulation!
