@@redstone-k3d Trojans are the mythological counterpart of historical Hittites. Anatolia was first inhabited my Mycenaean Greeks in the 20th century BCE. Turks migrated into Anatolia 3000 years later.

"The name Zeybek is originally a historical Turkish title. In the 19th century, however, the name was mostly used for gangs that operated similarly to the brigands in other areas of the Ottoman Empire. Contemporary European observers described them as a kind of 'rural militia'. Initially, the armed security forces of the Seljuk state in Western Anatolia were referred to as Zeybek. A Zeybek had to take an oath that he would always keep his word and be a good shot, healthy, fast, brave and brave. Later, the rebels who moved into the mountains after the Celali-Rebellions were called Zeybek. They formed gangs whose leaders were called 'Efe'. The Celali-Rebellions were a series of rebellions in Anatolia of irregular troops led by bandit chiefs and provincial officials known as celalî, celâli, or jelālī against the authority of the Ottoman Empire in the late 16th and early to mid-17th centuries. The first revolt termed as such occurred in 1519, during Sultan Selim I's reign, near Tokat under the leadership of Celâl, an Turkmen-Alevi preacher. Celâl's name was later used by Ottoman histories as a general term for rebellious groups in Anatolia, most of whom bore no particular connection to the original Celâl. (...)" @@GeoBBB123 None of them assimilated, especially not the ones who dance Zeybek. Zeybek is mostly danced by Turks who live in aegan regions and this region has the highest EastEurasian genes. Many Turks there are Yörüks, Yörüks are a Turkic Tribe. Our genetics' biggest part is Native Anatolian, which is not "Christian" since Christians aren't an ethnic group and other biggest part is Turkic. When they would've assimilated, there wouldn't have been any Greeks or Armenians 100 years ago to kill. They lived over 800 years together and there were still so many Greeks/Armenians? Doesn't sound logical

@@osmanulusk2539 The language of this dance conveys that this people are proud after a victory. Is this the same as Harmandali? (sorry if spelling is wrong) I have seen Burak Ozcivit dance in Kara Sevda with Neslihan and Hazal and another dance I saw Engin Akyurek dancing with a group of men. Are these the same? Harmandali music is awesome I love it. Then there was another dance (seemed more local) done by Akin Akinozu and Ebru Sahin in Hercai . It seems like a wedding dance. I wish I could read about these different dances I wish there was instructions for them on you tube. These dances should be preserved and not go away.

@@Myidea4 The general name of this type of folk dance is Zeybek. It varies by region. It is usually danced with folk songs sung for folk heroes called "Efe", who rebelled against injustice and lived in the mountains. Every song has a sad story. Love, heroism, death, rebellion, etc.

@@Myidea4 Harmandalı is a type of Zeybek. I mean there are different types of Zeybek in different cities, Harmandalı is just a type of it. Burak Özçivit also plays zeybek, yes. And yes Engin Akyürek also plays zeybek (in Sefirin Kızı, I think). They are the different types of the same dance. Akın Akınözü and Ebru Şahin's dance is different, called "Reyhani". It's an Arabic origin dance, not a type of Zeybek.

Zeybek is a form in Turkish folk music. There are many other forms as well. This song is "Tavas Zeybeği". And there are many Zeybeks. (Avşar Zeybeği, Kadıoğlu Zeybeği, Karaşar Zeybeği, Kostak Ali Zeybeği.....)

@@atillavedataydn1270 I agree. The dance is rooted from anatolia (also a Greek word - ΑΝΑΤΟΛΗ means sunrise). But the antiquities behind and melow the dancers are obvius Greek. The dance and the dancers are great! 🙂
