In Greece we use three colours in surnames. We have Mr Krimizis: Mr Red, Mr Saris: Mr Yellow, Mr Sariyannidis: Mr Yellowjohnson, Mr Karas: Mr Black and Mr Karakostas: Mr Blackkostas🤣🤗❤️🇬🇷

In Turkic languages, "Karayanız / karayağız" (just like "karabeniz") means "brunette / swarthy" (not "black Yannis"), and "Sarıyanız / sarıyağız" (just like "sarıbeniz") means " yellow / fair-skinned / blond" (not "blond Yannis"). These words are used to describe people or animals. "Μπογιά" is also "boya" (paint, colour) in Turkic languages.

Dear Can, Thank you very much for the high quality videos you are producing. Love them. Please go on. Your English is great and of course Turkish is your mother tongue. Please allow me to comment on an English phrase in the video. In English we say “hair color” and “eye color” and do not use “ ‘s” with such words. The reason is that these words are inanimate. Once more, Thank you, Can, on behalf of all subscribers. Your efforts are very much appreciated. PS: I am a certified English teacher. I love your videos and would like to see more of them in future.

@@elifkim564 resmî dilde, bilimsel yada coğrafik terimlerde kara, al, ak, kızıl kullanılır her zaman. Alyuvarlar, al bayrak, akdeniz, karadeniz, kızıl deniz vb... ayrıca kızarıp bozarmak, yanakları al al olmak, karalara bürünmek, ananın ak sütü, kara kaşlı kara gözlü, kızıl saçlı gibi gündelik hayatta karşılarına sık sık çıkacak bu renkler. Bu yüzden başlarken hepsini öğrenmeleri uygun olur bence.

Renk=colour, rengim=my colour, rengin=your colour, rengi=his/her/its colour, rengimiz=our colours, renginiz=your colour (plural you), onların rengi=their colour. You don't need to use the words benim (my), senin (your), his/her/its(onun), our (bizim), your(sizin, sizlerin) before nouns. By the way, kırmızı=al=kızıl (red), siyah=kara (black), beyaz=ak (white), gri=boz (grey),

What's the difference between siyah and kara to say the color black? I heard "kara mamba" for the black shake called mamba or Kara Deniz for the Blak Sea.

Kara is synonymous with siyah. Kara sevda means blind love.

Kara is an archaic way to express black.

Kara also means black/dark. There are some synonyms we use Can forgot to say like ‘kızıl / al = red and ak=white’
