Saw this the first time on 52 weeks of beauty channel. I started doing this because I was sick of clip ins they kill my head. I love it! I do tape ins now because i have thin hair and therefore do not need allot of hair on my extensions. But the diy is so awesome!!! By the way I do coconut oil treatments on my extensions when I take them out. I melt the oil coat the hair place them in a plastic bag shoot a hot hair drier on them wrap them in a towel and leave it over night. Next day shampoo and condition and they come out great.

Thats a really good idea! I dont use the coconut oil, but I will have to try them. What type of extensions do you use? I noticed that my Bellami ones were getting super tangled after 2 washes, so Im on the look out for ones that wont get like that. I also wonder if its because the tape is sort of exposed (more than it would be using the sandwich method)

The first ones I ever got were from Amazon. They were inexpensive but pretty good. I now use Irresistible me extensions. I don't shampoo my hair but once a week, I know it sounds nuts but when your scalp and hair get use to it you do not produce so much oil. I use dry shampoo if I feel it needs it. When i do shampoo i to use a good sulfate free shampoo and a good conditioner. I use argon oil on them also and a heat protectant. When I drop my extensions that's when I do the conditioning treatment. I really like Irresistible Me extensions. But look up Miss Flirty hair extensions. She's the one I learned how to make tape extensions like you do from but she has skin weft tape ins now. Check them out if you want. Hope this helped.

I got my 1st set of ext about a mos ago, and fell in love! So, like you said, after being over the clips I tried tape ins and was so upset when I got them and realized there's no way that's going to be enough 😭. Although I love the tape ins, I can't afford to buy twice as much. I've been looking online for a way to convert and saw your tutorial. Thank you soooo much!!! You're a lifesaver!

Really good job on the whole converting the clips into tape! I was sent the wrong set from my sponsored company and they were for a client that was eagerly waiting to get her new hair. I felt sooo bad having to had her wait for return and reshipment so I came across the idea and watched your video! I recreated the extensions and yeah they were perfect! Thank you for your time, knowledge, and education. Your sectioning was also on point. I would definitely do a different color match though, looks they hair was off by 2 levels at least. You pulled them off tho and look super beautiful. Thank you girl 💋

I do the same thing, except I use the Liquid Gold glue to glue the tapes onto the hair. Stays a lot longer!

Do you put the liquid Gold directly on your hair to bond the weft to your hair?

Ty!! Great tutorial.. I’ve been wanting to do this for sometime with clip ins I bought years ago. But I have what may be a stupid question.. How do you reuse the extensions when they have that old tape on them? Is it easy to remove? Or is there a process I’m unaware of?

Hey Sarah I was like u looking for a way to have taped hair instead of clip in hair for the same reason as u. So I got taped hair and clip ins I had so I put them side buy side and it was crazy how little hair u get taped then clipped.

Hi. I love your video i will do this tomorrow but can you please tell me the name of the tape you use and also let me know how often you wash your hair and if the extentions stayed in place after washing hair Thanks

I use Walker tape 1/4 inch and I only wash my hair maybe ever 4 or so days. If you do it right, the extensions will stay in perfectly through washing!

sorry if I'm being dense but why does each piece need to have sticky tape on both sides? when I look at actual tape in extensions the pieces/strands only have sticky tape on one side, you stick that to the bottom part of your own hair strand, and then put another piece on top of it practically sandwiching your hair between two pieces of tape ins. that's why I don't get that your pieces have tape on both sides?
@sarahpuckett9365
@sarahpuckett9365 7 жыл бұрын
Well, because instead of sandwiching the pieces together, I put one piece in, and then go up a bit and add another piece. Having tape on both sides, ensures that it is really secure to your hair because its sticking to hair both on top and on bottom of it. Using the actual tape in extension pieces that you can buy might be a better way...but this way has worked for me for awhile and its cheaper. :)

You can buy it on Amazon. Brands like Bellami and Zala also sell it on their websites, but it is there brand and not Walker

Hello, thank you so much for your video! I was just curious why the tape has to be on both sides of the hair? I need tape ins for my wedding and my hair is going to be a side braid that is curled at the end. So I don't know if double sided tape is a good idea. Please help me out!! :) thank you so much!
@sarahpuckett9365
@sarahpuckett9365 6 жыл бұрын
Tamara Bridgewood I would suggest clip ins for your wedding. The good thing about them, is you can place them however they need to be to accomodate your hairstyle! Otherwise, yes I would still use double sided tape if you are doing tape ins, it holds a lot better that way :)
@zaysay5422

I’m pretty sure taps in are more expensive because the quality is much better than clip ins, made for being washed daily and lasting etc even those from the same brand are different clip and tape hair

Yes so true! If you can afford the tape ins definitely do those! This is just a tutorial for those of us who dont want to pay that price but still want long hair! 😘

looks like your putting them in like clip extensions. your not supposed to put the tape on your hair like that. tape needs to be on both sides and not to your scalp. at least I thought
