@AKPhilly those are some examples of cards that were made in the early years of magic. Alchemy cards are just the logical extention of Richard garfields original vision for magic

If this happens IRL, you're probably in one of two scenarios: either it's a casual game, in which case you should totally just leave and in the future shun them. Or it's in a tournament, in which case you should call a judge because they're committing "unsporting conduct - stalling", something that's very much not allowed and punishable.

@@JonaxII it was I suppose considered casual as it wasn't like a sanctioned PTQ or anything but it was at my LGS for a FNM event super Prize Pool.. $25 dollar entry, winner got a box of Zendikar Rising Collectors Boosters .. it was Semi Finals and there was a "judge" and eventually He noticed and when he started walking towards us.. the Opponent scooped and stormed off like a sore loser. Still.. I think back on it and I can picture the Rope above his head just slowly ticking down as he finally relents and runs away very Sour and very Salty.

@@anannoyedpanda not particularly , this was a standard environment with Uro and Ultimatums and Ugin [if you remember that Era.. it was literally Covid time ] Late October 2020.. and we had just gotten the go-ahead to be there maximum 30 people and 25 people were playing. It was the first time we had all gotten together in 7 months.. and this Sour Puss was just salty as Salt could be... you could see the Salt Rope ticking down above his head. I was playing the Temur ramp.. with Genesis Ultimatum and he was the CONTROL player DImir Control using Shark Typhoon and Drown in the Loch with that weird SeaGate Stormcaller card well he got super upset the time he cast it, resolves ... goes to cast Frantic Inventory thinking he's gonna draw a bunch of cards but he didn't have the mana because he didn't pay 3 life for the Sea Gate, Reborn land to come in untapped so all he had was 1 blue mana.. so that fizzled and he got angry at me for noticing ... that's what started the Salt.. then my turn Genesis Ultimatum cast and would ya look at that.. Ugin and a Phylath and this was his Arms cross Salt Rope finale point... BUT !!! Even if his plan had gone through and he drew 6 cards it STILL wouldn't have stopped my Ultimatum. I still had the win regardless. Lol.. sorry my ADHD Brain just took you down memory lane my bad. Just sticks out so bad in my brain. ...

@@oliverwilson11Leaving out voting would remove Council’s judgement which is one of the best removal spells in the cube. Let not leave that one out. Also monarch is a staple of vintage cube at this point. Initiative is getting up there also.

@joshuagriffith9191 Pot of Greed is one of the most powerful cards of all time, doesn't mean it needs to be in the Vintage Cube. Commander cards aren't MtG cards in my personal opinion

@@oliverwilson11 Pot of Greed also isn’t a Magic card. I played yugioh back in the day also. How much I agree that most commander cards aren’t really magic cards because commander is a garbage format. There have been a few fun cards added to vintage cube from commander sets. Fractured Identity, Pest Infestation, staff of the storyteller, baleful strix, currency converter to name a few. Initiative was definitely a mistake for vintage though.

I had no idea that card was remotely playable in a format this powerful and forgot it was on Arena, but it makes a lot of sense in a deck like this. What a nostagla blast, i used to love that card when I was 12 forever ago :-0

That’s crazy, been playing arena forever and never even knew that. Definitely need to be a more policed area then, shits pretty toxic lol. Guess it doesn’t really effect the number of players on the game so they probably don’t see it as a big deal. I’m certainly gonna start reporting people.

It's meta dependent. Necro has two big advantages in this format. One is that it dodges Shelly and Bowmasters. The other is that T1 Dark Ritual Necro beats Thoughtseize and Spell Pierce while T2 Dark Ritual One Ring does not.

tbh in this format its going to be. im starting to destory these necro decks with boring jeski control. even the best pilots get to greedy and double bolt is so easy to have up with snap caster. you have to be able to win the turn you cast it or the very next turn for it work out, in timeless. necro overall is a better card tho.

Depends on the deck. Necro immediately draws you X cards but also puts you in harms way. One ring draws a lot of cards over several turns but super fogs 1 turn. Also necro doesn't actually draw anything protecting you from bowmasters and sheoldred

At least if you craft Necro and it gets restricted, you'd get the extra wildcards under the Timeless policy back because Necro isn't legal in any other format. (Presumably Historic Brawl doesn't count as a "format" for that. Hopefully.)

I mean hopefully restricted still means you would get wildcards refunded for each extra one you have. You would think so anyway
