@@RooZ_yt IDK, I've used cloud gaming with gamepass to try games out. Yes, I install on my series x, but their cloud gaming is pretty impressive if you have a good connection. It's nice to have the option, but yeah I feel you and OP.

How does it work for you? I haven’t tried it yet, but I also only have gamepass for pc. Just wondering if it’s worth the upgrade or not? I have a ps5 that I can stream from and a pc.

It streams directly from the cloud 👍 Also ps5 streaming is a bit differently. It streams from the console itself. Going to make a video about it soon.

@@Hijynx87 works fantastic...picked up right where i left off with the new plagues tale from when i played on my xbox... also i have fast internet where i am (up to 1gb) so honestly i did not notice any lag whatsoever...was just awesome playing in my bed...makes a huge difference for me since being a new dad i have barely anytime to play games and steam deck is really helping me to game still! :)

@@RobinB360 yeh not a big fan of that method(streaming from console!) As if i remember correvtly means you have to enable remote switch on or leave ps5 running in order to play games...prefer microsoft method tbh...this era i have found myself less bothered by sony tbey just seem to be stuck doing old things...and less value provided...barely any exclusives at the moment.. still don't think ps5 is that compelling (despite owning one!)

XBOX Game Pass and Steam Deck is such an incredible combination! On Forza Horizon for example, it will utilize the analog triggers of the Steam Deck! Games like Halo Infinite will have every control mapped perfectly! Anyone who owns a Steam Deck really needs to consider getting an XBOX Game Pass account as it brings so much more entertainment! One of the things that impresses me is as I'm playing XBOX Game Pass on my Steam Deck and unlock an achievement, my computer will make the unlocked achievement noise too! Love it!

@@Hijynx87 Game Pass gives you everything. I'm able to download things for my PC, and my XBOX, and play these games on my phone or Steam Deck, for the same monthly fee. It's such a great deal.

for anybody have an error page pop up when trying to open it on the final step: when you copy the launch options link into the properties of “XBOX Cloud Gaming (Beta)” make sure the is a space separating the copied link from the “@@“ this fixed it for me.

great video. is there a beta app to stream directly from my xbox over wifi like there is on windows? cloud gaming has HORRIBLE lag for me but i can wifi stream from my xbox no problem usually..

Is there anyway to use remote play with edge? The only ways I can find to do remote play for xbox is using 3rd party apps that make you log into you xbox account on their app... which is too risky IMO.

Good that it works for you! Normally at the left top of your screen, there are a few dots. If you select that, you get a pop-up where you can close the game. Hope this helps 👍

As it’s Xbox game pass, you should be able to play it without an Xbox. But with remote play it’s a different story.

I am doing it but in one of the first steps when I add edge to the library and then I press on add a game and then add a non steam game it doesn't appears and I followed your steps, what could cause this?

Im not quite sure what could cause that you can't see edge in the library when trying to ad a non steam game. But there is also an option to browse for the application. Are you able to see it there? If not, was edge installed successfully? As in, are you able to use it in desktop mode?

You could also install windows on it and play XBOX games. But then again you would also need to follow multiple steps. The difference would be that you would be playing the games directly from your device instead of from the cloud. But this method saves you storage space and gives you a bit more battery life.

For this method, you don’t need Roms. But you need an Xbox game pass subscription.

If you have a controller connected to your steam deck and you have Xbox game pass open on your steam deck do the following: 1. press the steam button. 2. Then at the top, go to Xbox cloud gaming. 3. Then go to controller settings 4. and again to controller settings. 5. The go to reorder controllers. 6. And then put your controller at the top. That should do the trick. Hope this helps 👍

The best way right now is to add the Microsoft Edge Game Pass link to the Steam Library so you can use it from Steams gaming mode. But you are right a native app would nice to have by now.

@@BTMaverick707 I heard that the Xbox app is installed in a way that heavily depends on Windows files, therefore seems impossible to run through proton. Microsoft would have to work it out with Valve to make this happen. Microsoft want game pass available almost everywhere but at the same time they would like to push their Windows system so, I don't know if at the end game pass would be ported to Linux.

@@RobinB360 definitely. It’s great being able to play anywhere in my house or outside. I also use it for the PS5. Im putting a few docks around the house. Using the console controllers it’s great having access to anything everywhere you go.

Don’t know the reason. You can’t play every Game Pass game (yet), but you can play Dead by Daylight.

A much better way to turn the deck into an xbox is to just put windows on a microsd and use pc game pass

@@RobinB360 in my use it's ran about the same battery life as playing steam games on the deck, the windows optimizations have gotten much better since launch.

I really am sick of seeing this cloud gaming crap, I just want true local gaming not depending on another computer doing the workload! I went ahead and resize my local partition, one with steam OS install and the other one with Windows 11, I customize it for gaming by permanently disabling antivirus protection and start installing Xbox game pass games. Way better than playing a game remotely on another computer and relying on the internet speed and getting used to the lag.

@@RobinB360 on steam OS is always over 2 hours to 5 hours. Using Windows i am not sure but I believe battery dies quickly because I can't control the TDP.

@@reynoldcracker02 That’s the reason I prefer playing xbox through xCloud on Steam OS. It’s not perfect, but it runs pretty good and you get a lot of battery hours out of it. But I can see the appeal of playing the games natively when you install them on Windows. 👍

@@RobinB360 I would like cloud gaming if it wasn't noticeable and also could be play on the go but relying on cloud services break the portability of this incredible device and also would waste this device power. I could theoretically just use my phone and connect my controller to it and start streaming.
