Who needs fancy equipment when you have a nail, some string, a ruler and a plastic lid????? Steve, you truly amaze me at what you are able to create out of common materials that most people would just chuck in The bin… this clock is absolutely perfect… I love it!

First time to see someone use a string and a nail to act as a compass, NO… that’s an ancient technique I’ve used myself… that doesn’t negate the fact that Steve is brilliant at using what most people would never think of using to make something as beautiful as this clock!

Just a wee suggestion, paint neat glue on the base and let it dry, place paper on top, and use a hot iron and parchment paper to fix it in place. The heat reactivates the glue, and you don’t risk the paper sticking to the wet glue in the wrong place.

If you ever cut another one loosely screw the board center into a work table top toward the end. So the board can spin.Then move the board instead of the saw less chance of messed up cuts and also tape edges of circle then mark the circle over the tape and cut that way les chance of board ripping.

“ON THE WONK!” Bahahahhaha! My Grandad used to say that!!! OMG….I LOVE YOU STEVE!❤❤❤❤ CLOCK IS GORGEOUS and I MIGHT just try it but WHAT ELSE could I use other than MDF as it is SOOO heavy…..I wonder if that thick corrugated plastic that looks like cardboard but is plastic? AND…IMO…..ya hung the clock too high love….just my opinion….not worth much LOL. I LOVE LOVE IT!!!

I am super impressed by your kitchen clock Steve. I think the steampunk look is fabulous and the lead around as detailing was a very clever idea. I love your clock. For me the pattern is a bit busy. I would use simpler paterns maybe in various colors, such as turquoise, red, neutral, and 1 more complementary color with various simple patterning. Great idea and I may just make your clock. As we get older it is quite nice to have things easier to read. Fantastic explanations for crafting a beautiful clock. Thank you so much! ❤
