At my parents farm there was a huge Boulder right in a major pathway. No one could shift it, till one day I slipped from the Boulder into the conveniently positioned greengage tree and spiked a long graze on my arm. Dad passed me his crowbar, which strongly resembled yours, and they all gathered to watch as I prised that Boulder loose. Dad then passed the crowbar to me when he passed. It’s called Boudicca after the Celtic queen who rode a chariot with a long spear in hand. As my granddaughters middle name is also Boudicca, she will inherit it when I pass. 🇦🇺🎸⚡️🤘🏿🤘🏼💋❤️

I love the way you 'terraced' the beds with the logs themselves! I was imagining you digging into the hill, leveling, then adding the logs. This way was so much easier, and more logical! Same end result, less unnecessary work. Clearly it is still possible to teach old dogs like me new tricks! 👍

Love seeing the old ways of "using what you got" and "free". So many homesteads are supporting Lowe's and Home Depot for every out building and project when I am use to those being "off the land" or " salvage". Many a three sided lean-to out of cedar posts from the land, long thin tall saplings for nailers and salvage barn metal. Great for tractor sheds, implement storage, etc. Nothing really needs to be perfect but they are workable at no cost but labor. Yup, chain saw is close enough for this style of building. Leave the tape measure in the shop. Yes, they will rot eventually but when it is free, you can replace it.

Going barefooted in warm weather is one of my favorite memories of childhood. I see your children are fond of it too. Not every outdoor activity is safely performed without foot coverings. One of those is digging with shovels to move dirt around or dig a hole, or gutter. Safety is the issue. One misplaced thrust of a shovel can result in an injured foot. Adults don’t go about their work outside in bare feet for that same reason.

YT fed me an old video of yours today, I just watched the one titled “We are so awkward”. I don’t know how often you go back and watch your own videos, but it might be a fun walk down memory lane for you. Ben had short hair, the boys were so small (and wearing shoes, lol), and you hadn’t yet taken to the road. I love that. My dad was 92 when he passed in 2021, and was still very sharp mentally. I loved hearing all his stories of growing up in the depression, lying about his age and joining the Navy at 17, coming home from his tour and buying his first dairy farm. He was the hardest working man I’ve ever known - he ‘semi retired’ at 72, and was still mowing his own lawn when he went to assisted living at 90. He also NEVER met a stranger, had a slightly naughty sense of humor, and was kind right down to his soul.

Ben discard ( firewood ) the Tulip Poplar wood, that will rot the fastest when having ground contact, cause it attracts bugs that starts rot process ! Some old Barns are ( carefully ) built with Poplar wood, cause it gets harder and harder with age, but never use in moisture areas for buildings or walls, Poplar is mostly used structurally for furniture wood ! Just mentioning; Poplar wood makes lots and lots of ash and burns quickly, it should be first big log in fireplace or stove, but no more after that, cause it doesn't last long for heating overnight and requires too much firebox cleanouts, but is the best campfire wood if constantly fed to fire !

I use just the iPhone and it’s SO much faster now 👍. Also got rid of double photos. One or both freed up my phone a LOT. Meg, you look like you’re to that time when it’s like I’M READY … you were quite far in when you guys shared with us though huh… cause when I thought you were looking ready I thought gee wasn’t that long ago you’s told us 😄 then realized you had a nice little belly bump at that announcement ♥️ Little Miss Buggy is gonna be a little mommy ♥️ Can’t wait to meet the baby 🤗. Thinking to send a gift card so you can get what you need or want for the new babe. Never have enough diapers seems to be the case for most, and some ask for the next size up from newborn 🤷‍♀️ So, you’d be in a better place to know WHAT you wanna do ♥️ Need a PO AND a store name? Or maybe just a Visa card - all stores will take those
