Food Court + Higher Prices = Food Hall

Memo to Vegas hotels - if I wanted to go to a food court, I'd go to my local mall. When I'm in Vegas I want to eat at a high end buffet. If you have a dinner buffet, you get my business. If you don't have a dinner buffet, I skip your resort. Brunch buffets aren't doing much good if they close at 3pm and I'm hungry at 7pm. Looks like it's down to Caesars and Wynn as far as strip properties go.

Huge pass, I didn't like food courts in malls in the past I'm not interested in eating in basically a mall food court in a casino! I love you videos though!

I really appreciate the level of detail you provide when you review food. It helps people at all levels of budgets and all tastes.

I have less and less desire to visit Vegas these days as buffets are phased out.

Thanks for reviewing every place. The chicken tenders look good but not the price. That is pricey at $4 per tender plus extra for sauces if not eating at the bar. Wanted to try the burger and onion rings but now I want to try the sushi. Love the hat on Dave.

I wouldn't say food courts are better than or taking the place of buffets. I would absolutely prefer buffets still if the price is right, ex. South pointe, Palms, etc. Maybe not the big expensive ones on the strip but definitely not the smaller local ones.....

Attaboy Burger for the win! Love me some onion rings! Great price. I just paid $9 yesterday in WV for onion rings. Those looked so much better, for $6. Have fun, kiddos!

This is a moment where I am proud of my age. I actually got to visit Las Vegas when it was ridiculously affordable.

Live here but haven’t been in the Rio for quite some time. Have to check out sushi and Saki

if i want a food court i would go to my local mall, not vegas. its sad that the buffets are either overpriced or closed. Vegas has lost its lustre thanks to pencil pushers looking to maximise profits.

Now I want to order burritos for lunch...yes, plural burritos thanks you guys. :):)

Great video! I’m heading to Vegas a week from today (staying at MGM Grand). I’m excited to eat out at different restaurants but also want to have a few meals in my hotel room. Does anyone have food recommendations on where I can go food shopping preferably on or very close to the strip so I don’t have to eat out for every meal?

Once in a blue moon, maybe if the reputation is worth it, need a snack cause tonight is fancy dinner time...ok. there are reasons for food halls..but Vegas being Vegas never fails to squeeze us out of every dollar we have so they squeeze every restaurant fastie to max out the charges.

I miss the buffets. No more Vegas!

Im a Local and if you are coming to Vegas, dont come here Broke or on a Budget, cause those prices at that Food Court are Average at a Casino....

Durango and FountainBleu seemed have the best Food Halls. Rio and Aria does not have good food halls. Cosmo is ok.

I'm going to be there in about 5 weeks. I will try Attaboy burger. 11 bucks? Can't beat that.

I liked Tony Luke's legit Philly Cheesesteak, altho the sammy itself is a bit smaller than the original in Philly. But flavor-wise, spot on!!!

I will hope Tony Luke’s is as good as Philly. They’re more known for their roast pork! Hope you tried it.

I would probably go for the sushi. But to be honest, at those prices, I would just go across the street and eat at the Palms buffet.

Love Vegas. Love your videos. Not a fan of the food halls. Vegas was built on BUFFETS!! I hate the food halls with the kiosks, texts, come pick it up when called or texted ect.. It eliminates jobs & I feel like I'm working to get my overpriced meal. If I want a quick meal, I hit Linq promenade for some Gordon's or In & Out.

Buffet's are better than the food halls.

With that new burger place, ddi they close the Smash Burger brand restaurant that was near the entrance from the parking garage ?

Definitely not the best new one but Definitely a upgrade for the Rio. The burger spot was good. Too bad they didn't have this all those years that the Rio hosted the world series of poker!

Where can a person eat in Las Vegas who is severely allergic to all cheeses and is also unable to tolerate fried foods?

$35 for chicken tenders with a little sauce. Rio is off strip. This place will be closing in about a year. I'm not paying for Ramen. Sushi is too sauce dependent. If I want chicken tenders I have a raising canes within a mile of my house. Burgers are everywhere. I would get the Philly cheese steak because I haven't had a good one in years.

$8 for lumpy queso, no way.

so much money for not really lot of food

Just came back from 6 days at Rio. I was scheduled for 7 days and just couldn't take staying longer. Jack hammering week days going on in center of casino. No predictable running hot water in the rooms (I experienced this myself 5 of the 6 mornings and spoke with dozens others staying at hotel who said same). $30 up charge on the remodeled rooms and no hot water. As for the food court, meh. Philly cheesesteak was ok, nothing special. The ramen was ok, nothing special either. The root beer float at the hamburger place was good but the onion rings were so-so. I didn't try the chicken place but had one guest tell me he thought it was the best of the things he'd had there. I did get the wonton soup from the Chinese restaurant across from the food court, and promptly got sick. My guess is it was made that morning (hopefully) and possibly previous day(s). Dim sum there has always been hit and miss. Go when it's busy for best chance of fresh. I won't go back to Rio and think the hype I'm seeing in 'review' videos on KZfaq are more to post something rather than the reality we all know. Rio is old, tired, and fading away. It's far too expensive for what it offers.
