Texas just has more opportunities, studios, talk shows, etc. Don't be so "geographical".....Ray Benson definitely let everyone know in this clip that they are from Norman, OK. Yes, Oklahoma has been creating some amazing music for several years....but it doesn't mean that Texas is taking the credit. Turnpike obviously agreed to be on The Texas Music Scene series several times....so obviously it doesn't bother them to be a part of the Texas Music Scene.....or what I like to call the Red Dirt/Texas Country Music Scene. So what is the difference between a fiddle and a violin and a viola?

a viola has thicker strings, bigger bow, and is a little larger than the violin. A fiddle is usually a violin that is used in Country and Folk music, but you can also "fiddle" a viola. I have played drums and guitar in Country music for more than 35 years and have seen "fiddlers" play both violins and violas. They just call them both fiddles even though they are different instruments.
