Her shirt is very age-appropriate, with no excess breast skin visible. Dionne Warwick believes in staying true to her elderly woman's voice, rather than forcing it because it's in a very rusty state today. It is worth noting that she is 85 years old and still attracts interest. Beautiful effort.

You're so right. It's because Dionne in her prime just showed up planted her feet and did her job, which was to give the public great music. She didn't get into alot of trouble with drugs or resort to other kinds of desperate self promotion. She once said that she was the best there was at what she did. Take all of the singers who were around in her best years put them on a stage next to Dionne. Let everyone pick out tbe song that would best highlight their voice and let's see what happens. Dionne would be right there.

@@robertpolnicky3262 These kind of rankings are subjective and there aren't any wrong arguments. You can't have a greatest singer category and leave off Whitney Houston, Stevie Wonder, or early and into his prime Frank Sinatra. But again no arguments here everyone is great.

Yep, her voice and timbre are as instantly recognizable as those of Joni Mitchell or Edith Piaf. I think it's also to do with her grasp of how to use phrasing and rhythm within a line - "Heartbreaker" and "Say a Little Prayer" are cases in point of how well she knows that.

We need more places, like this to go to and dance, eat, enjoy live performances of people. It’s July 21, 2024. We’re in a great awakening, but we cling to the days of loving and giving, and honoring true talent. People still need places to go and enjoy music. I hope the future holds this intention, that lots are commenting, how much it still means to them. Falling in love, was a combination of great love songs, and just the right person to share it with. God bless everyone listening to this performance, and reliving great memories. Best wishes ♥️♥️🙏🙏🇺🇸🇺🇸

Agree, such an amazing voice and (just as much) phrasing, tweaking the phrasing here and there to wed the words with the tune and to convey meaning. Chaka Khan has that kind of skill too, they'll do it in the same way that a guitar player uses note bends and grace notes to subtly amplify the music...

Dionne was keeping time patting her mic before all the wanna be divas and up and coming female singers decided it was fashionable and so many copied it. Unlike most of them, she was a class act and beyond compare with most contemporary female "packaged" talent that rose in the early 90's and beyond.

The first time I heard Dionne Warwick's voice, it was the Summer of 1964 and I don't believe I had yet had my 6th birthday. It was the song "Walk On By." The song would ALWAYS remind me of JFK because his death wasn't even a year old and he was STILL fresh in the minds of many Americans.
