What if you were flung into a world full of dinosaurs and barbarians with only your wits to help you survive? Do you think you'll be able to make it out of such a situation alive? This is precisely what happened to Turok and his friend Andar, who found themselves in a deserted, forgotten land plagued by dinosaurs and barbaric men. But Turok's twisted life story is only one of the things that made Turok a true hero in the eyes of seasoned comic book readers and gamers, as you will soon discover. There was much more to this enigmatic character than just the situation that he was forcefully thrown into. Turok is one of the most exciting and mysterious superheroes ever published by Dynamite. Created by Gaylard Dubois and Rex Maxon, this superhero has also been published by Whitman, Valliant, Dark Horse, Acclaim, Gold Key, and Dell. Turok is hailing from the Mandan tribe. He and his friend Andar end up near the New Mexico Carlsbad Caverns, where they discover a lost land, also known as the 'sewer of the universe.' It is a land infested with dinosaurs and deadly barbarians. Turok and his friend have to face these terrifying creatures from the Earth's dead past, armed only with their own courage, wit, and resourcefulness. Turok's life is one of constant peril and challenges. He spends a significant portion of his time battling these dinosaurs (or "honkers," as he and his friend like to call them) and barbarians - all in an attempt to finally escape the Lost Valley and return home. This iconic comic book character has also spawned a number of popular video game series.

It did have a Satisfying sound but to me The Nuke Beam was the best the charge up the explosion then every enemy is turned in to an exploding Coal Statue of their former self's lol.

I don't understand how this hasn't been made into a live action flim yet. Or why they haven't reboot the game either. It literally has everything you need to be successful, a bada** lead character, cool weapons, dinosaurs, robots, time travel, aliens, cavemen, and a great storyline.

Turok for the Xbox was one of the best FPS's I've ever played. Being able to stick the enemy's to a wall with an arrow so the other bad guys couldn't hear you

I remembered him from the Gold Key comics. One of the artist that originally did the comic was also the artist that originally did the ST:TOS comic, also by Gold Key. I talked to the writer of the reboot at a con and mentioned my memory of his appearance in Gold Key comics, and asked about his sidekick, Andar. As mentioned, Turok aged slowly. There's an issue in which Turok visited Andar in a hospital and he was an old man.

Good old N64. I remember how I loved playing as an native and killing dinosaurs in jungles of lost world with different types of weapons from knives and bows to machine guns and chronoscepter. It would be great if a remake was made about Turok, something like a mix of Doom and Dino Crisis. Tal'set deserves better.

I still remember buying the Dell and gold key versions as a kid. Also bought the value version, checked out a couple of the dynamite versions didn’t really care for them. But at the end of the day a very underused and underappreciated character who has a boatload of potential in a live action movie would be terrific if they ever chose to do one. To this day still one of my favorite characters.

I used to love the games. I was blown away when I Discovered it was based on an old comic book from the forties. I actually found an archive Of old comic books scanned and I mean so old that the Paper of the pages turned yellow. Of the old del comics. And I gotta say they really do hold up. It's been well over 50 years since they were ever printed. But those stories are still as good today as they were back when they were put to print. Stories about survival and cunning About overcoming the odds using nothing more than what you have at your hands and what's inside of your head. They also had lots of fictionalized stories of what the cave people's life was like in the last land. As well as what was for the time Archaeologic Dissertations about extinct animals that would have lived In the lost world such as dinosaurs and other primitive mammals. Now science today has shown that we know that there are certain differences about the way that certain animals looked. But the comics got pretty correct the way that we believe even now that these animals Lived and behaved when they were alive. So I'm more than willing to give them a pass on not showing dinosaurs with Plumage instead of scales. As basic scientific accuracy It's more important Then aesthetic accuracy. Also let's be honest if you saw tea wrecks that had feathers. It wouldn't be nearly as scary. It be like looking at a giant chicken.

I remember reading comics about Turok but had no idea it was a video game as well until I got into KZfaq. Good story, good action and would like to have seen a live adaptation that was done well.

The lore of the N64 was a bit different Turok is a title bestowed every cycle to a new up & coming warrior ( The fact that the current Turok's grandfather is the only one to live long enough to pass the title tells you how dangerous the responsibility is)

I really would love to see Turok return again in the media, potentially a an animated series would work out and return to the game series after it's previous cancellation. I do also love the concept of playing a strong Native American warrior in a pre-historic setting and fighting against military tactics.

One of the greatest fictional warriors in existence that has spawn multiple games and comics, but cant get live action adaptation. Instead of wasting time with these new Jurassic Parks and Fast/Furious, Universal needs to go ahead and green lite a Turok film. If not Turok, I'll settle with Dino Crisis or Cadillac's and Dinosaurs

to be honest its easy to make a good game for turok. its just a setting with a revenge story attached. my idea for a turok game is that turok was a warrior in the past and legend and now a title to those who follow the path. make turok a druid. where he can call forth the powers of the creatures he tamed and become them. have turok become like the predator in well predators. where his technology takes the form of primitive hunting weapons but are so advance a trained warrior can out do future weaponry. the story be about finding peace, the person who becomes turok has a want in them, sense of a greater purpose that turns out to be a genetic anomoly of the first turok and is the thing that signals the next kinda like warriors who gain the need to fight. forced into a world were time doenst exist and dangers can come from multiple timelines and alternate dimensions. what the super hero element is that turok is the guardian of the underworld because it can link to any time and any dimension, so its turok job so nothing from one world can leak into another or something from the past or future to terrorize the past or future. when a turok dies another is born to take his place and turok leaves knowledge to make the new turok everything the old turok knows.
