@@fishboy242 Hey, you do a great job feeding and taking care of your animals, but I would not recommend giving the turtles spinach or avocados. Avocados have a very high fat content, and spinach causes calcium binding and too much can lead to a calcium deficiency. I am a big fan of yours and I would just like to let you know. Thanks!

I thought avocado and spinach were harmful to turtles as in they wouldn't even get close to it, but in reality they're up to eat anything that comes in front of them. To anyone watching this video and thinking about feeding these to their turtles, just avoid them for their main diet. They can only work as a very rare treat.

As someone who has cared for multiple tortoises in the past, they do kinda seem to hate the taste of spinach. I guess turtles don't mind it as much tho. I don't know if it's the same for turtles, but spinach does have a decent nutritional value for tortoises, it just shouldn't be a main part of the diet, more of an occasional supplement.

@@KZfaqByAdamSandler They love all kinds of no-no food only for the sake of novelty... it's like ice-cream to humans: most people love it, but wouldn't live feeding solely on it. The issue with spinach and other not recommended food for turtles is that it may limit calcium intake, which is for some reason a bigger issue with aquatic turtles than with their terrestrial cousins. It does little to no harm when they have access to all other kinds of nutritious food and the sun and warmth to process them. I'd like to add that turtles and tortoises are very sturdy overall, they have to have it very hard for a long time to actually look like they're unwell. In these videos, these turtles are very healthy since they're also kept as if they were in the wild, with the right conditions. They clearly have the access to all kinds of creatures and aquatic plants to feed on *and* also the treats, but I worry other people who most likely don't have a big outdoor pond for their scally friends may get the wrong idea, hence my comment.

I really enjoy these videos. Today I felt quite bad but seeing this really made me appreciate the moment, just little things matter too. :-) But my favorite videos of the turtles is watching them eat watermelon. Yes!! When I first got my turtle she was only being fed dry shrimps. Her vision was bad and she barely moved at all. We started feeding her fish and salad, sone carrots, she also loves a friut treat sometimes! Now she's a little devil, very acrive, always wanting to climb out of her tank and when she's finally out, she trues to climb on us for cuddles! She loves back scrarches :3 I love my little turtle ♡♡♡

I would not recommend feeding avocado to any reptiles in the future. Avocado in moderate doses can kill some reptiles and I think it’s best to use caution.
