I have the ATOTO S8 and use a Samsung Z Fold 4. I connect wirelessly to the ATOTO head unit and do not have to use the phone cable provided.

Guys a professional installed my atoto s8 pro today I have to tell you best purchase I ever made for a car I was skeptic it’s amazing screen amazing sound everything amazing I just love it I can’t say enough about it super fast

Dark Night Yeah, it's definitely the best purchase I did for my car. It even outperforms the Pioneer I used to have before I started with the Android devices.

I bought the same model and for me the wireless CarPlay is very laggy and not really usable ( playing music interrupts) Do I need to make an update for it? Or is the placing of the WiFi antenna crucial?

That’s strange, I honestly don’t have any problems with it. It could depend on the placing of the WiFi antenna, because I did have some problems with my Wifi hotspot connection in the beginning, which I resolved by placing the antenne near the place I put my phone. As far as I know, ATOTO hasn’t released any update for the S8 series yet.

Did you have to install Android Auto? Mine does not work right. It's like having two different versions of everything. But Google Maps only works though Android Auto which sucks.

With maps my direction isn't right. Like it shows me facing north when I'm not and it's confusing looking at my directions. Do you deal with that too?

go into the android auto settings and turn off " always face north"

You can press the square like icon in the top left of your screen, press for a while to split the screen. No need to download other apps

I ask a question that I have not found an answer to in several videos that I have seen on KZfaq. Can I connect my android mobile to this screen without using the cable (Car Link)? I mean, can I connect my mobile using EasyConnection or something? I know this screen does NOT have Android Auto Wireless.

Yes you can use bluetooth to get your phone and the head unit linked. The trick part is you make sure your wifi is open without connecting to any wifi (for both your handset and head unit), then pair your phone and the head unit together. Or else the wifi will interfere the Bluetooth connection. say, check your phone's wifi connection, if connect to "GP wifi(say, your office wifi name)", remove it by choosing forget the password but with wifi on. But bear in mind, you cannot virtually disconnect your wifi and put the wifi on. Then pair your phone and headunit. Once paired, next time, your device name was on both side. Hope this helps！
