Can you make a tutorial to get the notification from an in app action
@jl-david24 күн бұрын
You can make you app show a Local Notification without having to do a push notification. Here is a tutorial that shows you how to do this: stackoverflow.com/questions/41169460/ You can also alternatively generate a legit push notification using the Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) API. You can call it directly from your app, or build a REST API that calls the FCM API. Good luck!

Thanks a lot! This works for me. However, I would like to know why this doesn't work on release mode, because this only works in debug. Thanks

Yes - however, instead the step of adding an AppDelegate, one should be already provided via UIKit.

What about the case if the app is terminated will I receive the notification?
@jl-david17 күн бұрын
If you trigger the notifications from Firebase or from your own custom API that makes calls to Firebase, then yes. Here is the link: firebase.google.com/docs/reference/fcm/rest

@@jl-david we don't have to add anything in the appdelegate file so that we can receive the notification in the terminated state.
@jl-david17 күн бұрын
@@gyanupadhyay9473 The UNUserNotificationCenter didReceiveRemoteNotification method in the AppDelegate handles incoming push notifications when in terminated state. Clicking on a push notification will launch your app. If you want to open up a specific screen, you would need to add some routing code.

@@jl-david this method is for both to receive the notification in terminated and background state?
@jl-david17 күн бұрын
@@gyanupadhyay9473 There are two methods - didReceive and didReceiveRemoteNotification to handle the two scenarios.
