Gently roll the ornament around as the glitter covers the inside. I also give it a shake to get good coverage.

had similar issue and then when I tried to do a second coat , the glitter all came off … any suggestions if you need to do 2 coats?

That means you are not putting in enough glitter. Don't be afraid to put a lot in, then you will get the coverage. Then pour out the excess.

Hello, I'm not sure that the polycrylic will hold the photo in place

Polycrylic is a water based topcoat designed to protect wood, eg. furniture. If it can be used on wood, it should work on a photograph. If you are using a computer print, test it first to see if the ink bleeds. It dries in minutes.

Not sure why you'd want to. In order for the glitter to really sparkle and be robust, you want the glitter to be CLEAR through the ball.

Just pinch the prongs and slide them into the opening. It is pressure fitted in by the prongs

Polycrylic is used to coat the inside of the bulb so that the glitter will stick to it.

Dawn Mason yes, it most definitely can be! Pour the excess of each color into a separate cup, let them sit overnight just like the ornaments so any glitter that has some of the medium (in this case, the polycrylic varnish--sundry glues also work & are non-toxic, unlike Polycrylic) adhered has a chance to dry, then you can pour back into the glitter canister. Alternate options, if you're not comfortable pouring back into original glitter jar: You can pour each color into a separate "dirty"/used jar via a funnel for use on other projects later You can mix some or all colors together & save in "dirty" jar for later use You can pour excess of each color into a separate cup and reuse in other bulbs as you go along, either individually or using multiple colors, poured into bulb separately, to create different multi-color or even multi-texture effects if you use varying sizes of glitter, or you can even pour excess of multiple colors into the same cup & mix them up to make multi-colored glitter & use that to finish up what you have for bulbs to glitter (or save for a future project). My jaw hit the floor when I saw this woman pour the blue on top of the white in her excess cup, and my head spun when she spoke of it as waste!!! 😨😨😨 Glitter is very not-good for the planet--it's micro plastic particles that end up in our soil & water, & thus inside all living creatures. Plastics can really wreak havoc in our bodies, & any other mammal or marine animal, so reducing our use & dependence on plastics is vital to our longterm survival as a species & the planet. I'm not yet aware of viable alternatives to micro-plastic glitter (& I love shiny-sparkly!), though I'm hoping mica powders can perform as well. (They are naturally mined or lab created then colored or heat-treated to achieve vibrant colors, & most are considered non-toxic according to FDA standards for substances used in cosmetics or items expected to have skin contact.) I was shocked & momentarily furious to think someone would waste all that glitter and dump it down the drain or in the garbage! Even if she's not clued in about the serious & longterm affects of glitter in in the environment, is she so tuned out to the financial aspect?! Glitter is expensive! And she's willing to waste 3X more than her project actually uses? What the bleep?! 😦 Yes, PLEASE reuse excess glitter, and as often as possible, only use glitter, especially extra fine gradient, in a self-contained manner, such as the inside of ornaments or sealed with a layer of Mod Podge or such if used on an external surface. ☺

@@mlastudiodesigns6979 I reuse my glitter. I haven't noticed it having residue in my glitter or any clumps in it. I can't afford to waste my glitter. Have reused it many times without any problems.

It’s personal preference for me. I don’t want residue from previous pour getting onto my next ornament.
