I’m trying to create a cheat code for fallout shelter, And I have successfully isolated the code for Bottle caps. But whenever I change the value, then the number oscillates back-and-forth very quickly between the value that I edited and the actual value in the game. It even though I clicked freeze. And then, when I go and look at what has changed, I always see the number moving back-and-forth for a bottle caps. What is going on and how can I permanently fix that value?

If it changes back or still decreases after freezing the value, that means you did not found the correct address, try searching again with a different value type: u16, float or dbl

If a bar or gauge, guess the lowest and highest value, if a number or dot, guess the number or dot in decimal, float or double

@@optanticThis guessing part is confusing me. How can you guess correctly with so many possibilities? What if the number is 150 or 200 instead of 50 etc? Or 2000 or 2500 for the float instead of 1000. Can you explain this guessing part... thank you!

@@krisiluttinen All values range ars 0 to 0xFFFFFFFF, unknown gauge/bar should not be more than 100000.0 float (0x47c35000) , many are only x00.0, setting the biggest range will skip tons of values making the search faster.

I have found the value and it works! But the problem is that it changes the address everytime I start a new a battle; What I can do? 🤔

Try turning it into a pointer or asm cheat, check the pointer search tutorial

@@marcellsteven1047 This is already the tutorial, if you don't care about the searching speed, guess between a very small value and a very big value like float 99999

can you save the address you found and load the same code after start the game from beginning?

You could add the address to Bookmark, the address will be saved there

Don't have the game. If skill points is 21, try start a new search using A= 21 (u32 decimal) , B = 22 (f32)

@@optantic still not found, i try new search then i used 1 skill point, then less cycle, i used skill point again, less cycle again, then i open the game (not use skill point), then i try SAME cycle, 0 found...any suggestion?

@@nagumo_hajime90 You could try the opposite, instead of less, it could be more like how many skill points had been used
