Can you use that method for the cross beam with other materials like Paracord (550, 325, and 275)?

Yes. I can make with any material. Check my shorts for prayer rope made from paracord 550

Used shoe laces might be a bit disrespectful, as that would be kind of soiled. But the main concern is if they're long enough.
