TUTORIAL | Paper Bustier/Corset Purse | January 2019

Hello Crafty Friends, As request, I have created a step by step tutorial for the Bustier Purse. For this project, I used a digital file from Cre8ive Cutz - creative-cuts...., which comes with both an SVG digital file as well as a print and hand-cut option. The paper collection is Tattered Time by DCWV.

You can rearrange items on the mat before cutting so they can all fit, no need to hide etc etc

Oh my word!! This had got to be one of the cutest, most clever (and sexy) projects I've ever seen!💋 It's amazing and it needs more views!!!🤷🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️ MANY more. I don't have a digital cutter, so I'll have to wrangle my old brain around the PDF process. An elderly friend of mine just might be getting her Christmas gift in a red and white version of this...if I can figure it out. I can see it with a white fur strip along the top of the cups. Thanks for watching! After you purchase the file, you will have to upload it into Cricut Design Space. There are several videos on YT that can show you step-by-step how to import and upload new files that are not included in Design Space.

Hello, I'm sorry you are having trouble with the file. I played with the sizes in Cricut Design Space to make the Bustier at various sizes. It was a trial and error. If you are having problems with the file, perhaps you can contact the company's customer service or support. I'm sure they can help you better than I can. I hope this helps.

Hello - It's a hole reinforcer punch by We R Memory Keepers. You can search the web for their products. I'm sure they still have them available. They are a very handy tool. I hope this is helpful.

Hello and thanks for watching. I think I cut it to the file size that was imported. You can increase the size as you wish, just as long as it fits on a 12x12 cutting mat. In my video, I provided some useful tips for sizing. Watch the entire video to see more details.

This file is available in several electronic file formats. I used the SVG file in Cricut Design Space. To be sure, you should check the website.

Hi everyone, wondering if anyone has used this cut file in Silhouette? For some reason my cut lines are not showing when sending to the machine. I tried trace the image and that didn’t work either. Any ideas what I could be doing wrong? 😅 TIA for any help!

You have to make sure that you "attach" the score lines to the shape. You would have to do this for any image that is imported into Cricut Design Space. I assume this is the case with the Silhouette. I hope this helps.

I'm so sorry you are having problems. Many people have used the files and my tutorial with no problems. I use a Cricut Maker and am not well versed on the Silhouette. Sorry that I can't be more helpful to you.

Hi. Yes, the score lines are included in the files. You can also change the score dash lines into solid score lines on your Cricut. I hope this is helpful

For the initial 2 bustier purses that I made, I used the measurements that came with the file. For the Steampunk version, I made it as large as I could to fit on a 12x12 cutting mat

Yes. Several people have printed and manually cut and assembled the bustier. When you purchase the file, they give you basic instructions for the manual process along with the SVG format. It's essentially the same process as I show in my tutorial.

Hey Robyn, The svg file for this doesn't have score lines, just cut lines, how did you fix that? I have tried contacting them for about a week but no answer.

Hi. I just made it using the cut lines as they are barely visible on the bustier once its put together.

Updated Reply - If you are using a Cricut, you can go in and change each of the dash lines to the score option. This is time consuming, but allows to use the Cricut scoring tools. I hope this helps.

@@robynpi I am using the cricut, there is no option to make them score lines it shows one cut I tried adding score lines but I don't know how to make curved score lines for the bust part. I am not very happy with their customer service. I definitely won't order from them again. I may just have to hand cut the pieces..thanks for the help though

@@TammyNthecraftingdisaster hey tammy i just got this file a few days ago and heres what i did on all the pieces except the bra cups since they are curved. i inserted a score line from shapes menu and put it over the score area, then i contoured out all those little cuts, then attached the score line i inserted to the shape. that saved a ton of time. i know this is a few years old but thought id share anyway
