I suspect that years of being a survivor aboard the Voyager and Janeway's erratic behavior likely molded his logic toward more straightforward short term gains based pragmatist over the long term contemplative type of most Vulcans.

Tuvok didn't get enough 'Jedi Master' moments in VOY. Missed opportunity with a great character
@HellecticMojo9 ай бұрын
@@sulljoh1 I think the point of the character was that he wasn't a master, no one was. Everyone was a maverick that needed to hold it in because they were alone on the other side of the galaxy. We never see him actually win a Kal-toh game, and he was struggling with Kess over her powers. I think the fact that he controlled himself despite all the difficulties is good enough and made the character lot less boring than he would've been. We really didn't need mary sue Vulcan that's never in any level of distress and we also didn't need a vulcan who's vulnerability was a public outburst. Tuvok episodes usually has him stew on the holodeck or his quarters and I think that's a good choice. He's not so logical that he can't stop his murderous impulse on Neelix, but he is logical enough to realize that he's slipping. He's not so put together that he's immune to the "show up naked" dream, but he is calm enough to see it as a lapse and a potential problem.

One thing I love about Lower Decks isn’t just that they always take jabs at NuTrek whenever they can, it’s how. It’s not biased or unhealthy, it’s factual. This is one of those episodes. Mariner believed Starfleet framed her mother and thought so without being out of character. This episode reminds everyone that Starfleet isn’t in the habit of framing people. It’s the 24th century, they’re better and don’t do what should probably be considered ‘outdated’. The trial was a fair front the whole time while the truth was being pursued.
