12 Nigerian soldiers sentenced to death for mutiny

A Nigerian military court martial has sentenced 12 soldiers to death by firing squad for mutiny.
The 12 were found guilty of criminal conspiracy to commit mutiny, mutiny and attempted killing of a senior officer. Five others were discharged while one was sentenced to 28 days in prison with hard labour.
The soldiers had opened fire at the vehicle of a senior army general in protest over the ambush and killing of some of their comarades by Boko Haram in May this year.
The general survived the shooting, which occurred at the 7 division barracks in Maiduguri, the capital of northeast Borno State.

Please have mercy on these young soldiers, the senior officers are always the couse of mutuny because of corruption and embezzlement.

They have been pardoned. Falana was hired to defend their actions. They took that illicit action against their boss because he misled them. They sighted Boko Haram fighters while on the battle field. The captain called the boss expecting him to direct them to attack. Instead he told them to change position and not to fire. The captain used his discretion; he divided the troop into two and asked the other soldiers to stay where the boss wanted them to stay. At night, Boko Haram ambushed them. The other soldiers with the captain went to the barrack and fire their boss' convoy. Meamwhile, the boss was investigated and sanctioned accordingly when they discovered he is a friend of the boko hatam. Accorisng to Military Law, on no account, no matter the worse scenarios, should junior soldiers nake an attempt to terminate their bosses' lives. If such an action is taken, it is mutiny and the sentence is death by firing squad

These young Soldiers are been sentenced to death just bcos they said d truth they're not well equipped to fight Boko Haram & their lives are been wasted in d battle field. How many of d Senior Officers (Generals) found guilty of Embezzlement of fumds meant to procure Arms & Amunitions, have been sentenced to death?

You are out of your mind. They have been tried and convicted and therefore given the appropriate sentences in accordance to the provisions of the laws of the armed forces to which they are all signatories.I have no sympathy for them because they have their eyes wide open and knew exactly what they were getting themselves into. By the grace of God they shall not die in jesus name! During the time of Air marshall Badeh many junior officers were Ambushed and killed by boko Haram and it was alleged that their superior knows about it Nigeria should not kill any soldiers again
