The political crisis in Rivers State deepens as Gov Fubara directs Administrative Heads to take Charge Of LGAs following the expiration of the 3-year tenure of the council chairmen.
Governor Fubara gave the directive in a state broadcast on Tuesday in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital.
What we saw afterward were large crowds barricading the entrance of Port Harcourt City Local Government Area Secretariat and other parts of the state.
Their intent is to resist moves by the council chairmen to remain in office.
However, the police, yesterday, called on both sides to exercise restraint pending the case's outcome in court on the 20th of June.

Does the order of the court of appeal affect the tenure of LG Chairmen.? Was the tenure of LG Chairmen part of the issue before the court of appeal? Does the power of the governor to administer his state part of the issue which the court of appeal put in suspended? Can the police implicitly extend the tenure of LG Chairmen. Why would the governor wait for 2days on a matter in which he is not restrained by any court. A court tjudgment hat is not set aside in appeal nor whose execution is not stayed have ruled that the extension of tenure of LG Chairmen is null and void. Why would the governor wait when there is no order restraining him to that effect

If he always wanted to be in charge of the state, why did he rely on the godfather's support and structure from the beginning?
