TVXQ had a very hard time getting to the top in Japan as a Korean singer. They were already a popular singer in Korea, but their activities in Japan were completely different. Then, two years later, when they held a concert at a Budokan with the support of the fans, I think they got emotional as the hard past passed by. 😢😢This performance is unforgettable for both TVXQ and fans!! thank you for reaction❤️

I felt the emotion. It’s so beautiful to see their hard work pay off. I had no idea how much Korean artist struggled to be recognized in Japan. I’m learning so much. They definitely deserved it from what I have seen so far!

@@LAF258 Definitely! Budokan was one of their first big venue for concert in Japan. Jaejoong and Junsu once said that it is the first time they truly felt the recognition and support from the audience/fans in Japan. Because coming to debut in Japan was a hard on them since they couldnt speak the language and they need to start from scratch in contrast to their popularity in South Korea at that time. So when they were doing the encore you can see that they were feeling overwhelm by the audience and definitely a bittersweet moment for them to have come that far in their career in Japan. love OT5 always. @@LAF258in their commentary they explained they are touched to see so many fans and they are actually finally fluent enough in Japanese so that they know the meaning of the song... Their struggle is real,, I remember watched their performance under the stairs of the book store in japan😅 actually almost every concert in japan they have commentary of that in their DVD concert...but not the forth concert in Tokyo dome bcoz they split after that.. the commentary is funny tho. Changmin always teased their Hyung... Aaah good times😂

In Korean, they were very popular and successful since their debut, they quickly became top group in Korean, but in Japan everything not like that, they have to start from the bottom as a Jpop group, which means they have to learn Japanese and like a new group went through everything, they can't rely on interpreter when they guest on variety show or being interviewed, this Budokan concert was the first time they felt all their hard work really paid off. Being able to perform in Budokan and Tokyo dome were two huge milestones for them, only the artists who have certain popularity can filled these two venues, first is Budokan then Tokyo dome.

1:09:00 I'm a fan of TVXQ in Korea, and I don't know if the sentence will be correct because I used a translator. The reason they cried in Proud was that they went to Japan right after their success in Korea and started from the bottom up again. Now, K-pop is big enough for many Korean idols to perform in large venues right in Japan, but that was not the case when TVXQ first entered Japan. The first time TVXQ had a concert in a large venue after its success in Japan was the video of Proud you saw. That's why they are so moved and crying. Among TVXQ's live stages, 'Tomorrow will surely come' has really beautiful lyrics, so I want you to react. I'm truly happy to meet a fan of TVXQ.

As you know Max and Yunho are still together as a TVXQ but for JYJ due to Yoochun’s scandal,he left the industry but still released the songs.Jaejoong and Junsu are focusing on their solo project but in 2022 they released the japanese song together as you can see kzfaq.info/get/bejne/edmYg7eF2rHThp8.htmlsi=0P1_38RriSwkT18Q .And they officially plan to have a concert together by the end of this year.Actually we don’t know that between tvxq and jyj are still in contract it doesn’t have any lead to that but personally I don’t think jyj and tvxq keep in touch with each others

Thank you so much for the reaction! I appreciate you trying to understand the lyrics as well :) Their Japanese ballad tend to be more emotional and I often cry listening to live versions XD I’m sure a lot of people had already pointed out but I just wanted to add more context to their Proud performance. They were super successful in Korean like everyone knew their name, having won several prestigious awards etc. but in Japanese they had to start over. Like singing on a staircase of an Apple store or in front of random department store, or in a Buddhist school (it’s still a joke some former members still talk about but that goes to show how they literally would take pretty much any job in Japan despite being a massive boyband in Korea). Their first Japanese tour had mere hundreds audience. Budoukan (which is a closing venue for their 2nd Japanese tour) was big even to some Japanese artists, so for them it was a big deal. Their debut single in Japan was not very successful, they could barely speak the language but had to go on variety shows with no interpreter. They were so busy flying between Korea, Japan, and other Southeast Asian countries for tours and promotions and had to make time to memorize all Japanese lyrics because they are not shown on monitors back then. Their schedule was really harsh. I’m from Thailand and I remember seeing them pop into my country for a press conference, then back some other countries for work, then back in Thailand for concert. They were a busy K-pop superstar but also a “J”-pop artist trying to make a name for themselves from the ground up. So singing Proud to close off their Budoukan concert understandably made them very emotional. They worked hard to be there, which is something unimaginable for a lot of K-pop artists debuting in Japan nowadays. TVXQ quite literally crawl there so the later groups could fly. Talking about the split just pains me haha XD Honestly I think all the members were clearly emotionally affected by it too. A lot of fans have not recovered (me included!) but the members and former members themselves have moved past that and are trying their best in their own paths. And I do think you should check out their recent solo works, you’ll be amazed at how much they’ve improved, despite being so talented already in their OT5 time! Thank you so much for your reaction. It’s been such a joy. Looking forward to the next part!

TVXQ start their career in japan from zero. Beside BoA, no korean singer/group who popular there. even they have popularity in their homeland, they had sing in the apple store's stair and random places to promote themself. Ans budokan live so memorable for them since they finally can singing in front of many fans despite being foreigners.

Thank you for the reactions. I just subbed & will be looking forward for more! I rarely see reactions to TVXQ these days. Just want to add on Proud performance, in Japan, they have an entirely different discography in full Japanese & that's what they perform. They don't have teleprompter, so they would even sacrifice their rest and sleep time to study & memorize lyrics. Jaejoong recently admitted he was emotional during that performance of Proud, but he was trying to get through the performance and remembering the lyrics in his mind. It's like it was their first big venue concert & he was afraid to forget the lyrics or misspoke the words. These boys really worked so hard and poured out everything to their craft. They have often said that when they put out music, they want to make sure it's quality and would not disappoint fans. That says a lot about the artist. And that's what sets them apart from a lot of idols. That's why I never regretted being their fan since 2006. Be in a group and solo. :)

Not sure if anyone commented about this before, but they have not been communicating publicly but not sure if in private they have or not. There was this occasion when both Jae and Yunho were both at the same event during their military duty days and there were some videos of them interacting as well as greeting each others' parents. That was way back almost 10 years ago. By the way, since you commented on Yoochun tearing up in W, he was the crybaby of the group so I wouldn't be surprised if there were tears.

Not all artist can have a concert there. AAAAAAAAA CANT WAIT FOR PART 2 3 4 9 10 😂😂😂😂😂 it's funny that jaejoong carried everyone in that proud performance bcs he's the only one who didn't cry at that moment. but now that he gets older, you tell him a story about an ant couldn't carry a leaf and he'd crying like a baby seconds after that. the stone has become a fragile being 🥹 context: they're crying out of joy, don't worry! it's bc they're finally MADE IT in japan. you know, not like the kpop nowadays, tvxq started everything from zero. in asia generally, and in japan specifically. that's why their japanese name is TOHOSHINKI bcs it's not the same as tvxq-the kpop group. they were debuted as a jpop artists, starting from the lowest point, performing on very small STAIRS at japanese campus/university eventho they're the biggest group in korea (you know how big bts is now? they were bigger at that time). 2 years leaving their successful career in korea, learning japanese to be a japanese group, and finally they can hold a concert in a big arena. they finally made it! especially when there was a cold war between japan and korea, both countries relationship weren't even close to good, but they made it. that's why they were crying. fyi, before tvxq debuted, kpop wasn't called kpop bcs the previous generation before them didnt make it to overseas hence no need to put a "K". but because tvxq made it into overseas, started touring to the whole asia and some western countries, as more groups debuted, the term of kpop was born to differentiate their genre.

During the “Proud” song, Changmin commented that he and Jaejoong were the only ones who didn’t cry on stage. Jaejoong responded that it’s because they’re cold-hearted humans. This was such an emotional roller coaster even for me going back and watching these performances. I know for Jaejoong and Junsu they reminisce a lot about the past. I think Jaejoong had the hardest time as he was the eldest and thrived on taking care of his members especially Changmin. The split was hard on him and you can kind of hear that in his music especially his early albums as a solo artist. Jaejoong and Yunho were seen publicly in the military. They seemed to be chatting like old friends and even their families were chatting. I'd like to think they keep in contact now or at least are on good terms but its hard to say. Recently Jaejoong said he feels bad and regret about the fact that the fans really don't know what happened and that he can't say. As someone who discovered them as five the saddest part for me is seeing the fandom fall apart. I really hope you dont let it sway you into disliking any of them. But all of them continue growing and surprising me with their talent. And it's so good to see Jaejoong and Junsu finally being able to shine again after so many years. I definitely recommend checking out their solo work and Jaejoong's KZfaq show JaeFriends!

Proud is basically for Bigeast (their fandom in japan) and the fact thag they had to work so hard to postion Tohoshinki in Japan made em extremely emotional also this was Budokan arena back then it was almost impossible for a korean artist to make it like that in japan just BoA had managed by this time... They rebranded themselves for japanese market they learnes japanese thay changed their name to promote in japan they made songs exclusively in japanese (most korean artists just translated the ones already in korean) they had a different fandom in japan (Cassiopeia is the fandom in general bigeast in japan) they worked like crazy thats why they were so emotional

Yessss. I just woke up so I'm about to enjoy my breakfast while watching this. Appreciate you wanting to do a deep dive into OT5. Always happy when someone new joins in on the heartbreak Lol. JYJ - W, Fans believe the song is about the other two members but JYJ have stated that it was about the fans. Whether or not they have contact with each other, I'm going to say no, but you never know. So many years have passed and they've been apart longer than they were together, so it's almost safe to say that they're not in each other's lives anymore. Since Lee Soo Man(SM entertainments CEO) stepped down, maybe, maaaaaaaaaybe there could be a reunion...without Yoochun because he's basically banned apparently. Proud at Budokan - First time they felt like all their hard work in Japan was paying off, like they could actually make it there. Cause back then, breaking into the Japanese music scene was incredibly difficult. Before DBSK it was BoA who paved the Kpop wave. It doesn't seem like a huge feat now, but back then, it was rare.

Thanks for doing this. I think you should watch lyric videos by Dreamy Cassie before you watch the mvs or live stages that way you don't have to keep pausing and reading the lyrics while also trying to react to the vids. That channel is fan by a long time Cassiopeia which is the TVXQ fandom and she has lyrics to a lot of their songs even the less known ones. Happy you're continuing to discover more about Dbsk/TVXQ 🎉😊❤ I would request for you to watch "Don't Forget" and "Heart Mind and Soul" from the Tokyo Dome Concert 2009 those are very good live performances that many fans keep coming back to.

Nobody knows whether they communicate or not. But publicly they never crossed paths anywhere else (Exception of Yunho and Jaejoong in the army in 2015). They are like Voldemort to each other to this day. Personally, I think that at least Jaejoong is still in contact with one of the duo. Off camera, of course. Junsu at least has a warm attitude towards to the duo ((does not experience negativity) he mentioned them at his concert)). But is there communication? I doubt. Maybe from the category of congratulations on the holidays. Everything is more complicated with Yoochun at the moment, so I can’t even assume anything. This is a huge trauma not only for them, but also for the fandom. It's completely broken down into pieces. Although the Japanese part of the fans is in much better condition. W - is a very beautiful song. Filled with love, promise and hope. And it’s a pity that the duo then released Why (keep your head down), which is completely opposite to W. Although some will say that it is not for a trio, everyone thinks the way they want. God, when I watch Rising Sun again with someone, these feelings from the past come back to me. It's difficult to describe these memories. Like when I first saw this video, their images and everything. Although I listened to music that was far from K-pop, DBSK made me fall in love with them. Because of them, I pierced my ears and still wear earrings with crosses. hahaha Wrong number is one of my favorite songs from them! If we take songs that are not ballads, of course. A piece of this song has been ringing on my mobile phone since I learned how to download music from the Internet and transfer it to my phone. The song is very underrated, I think. Rumor has it that the song is about stalkers or something. You know, this group has some of the craziest stalkers. Who call, follow and everything like that. But in general it's just a great vibe song so far. Many have already written about Proud. Everything was written correctly. I really like the way their voices sound. Never get tired of it even after a decade. I love your reactions so much. Thank you for this marathon. And I am very happy that you sincerely like this group and their songs. I look forward to new videos. ❤

ZERO regrets going down this rabbit hole and taking the "red pill" 🤣. This group deserves the world, as in EVERYONE should know about them. I wish I knew about them earlier but I'm enjoying the journey regardless. I'm seriously hooked on 'Wrong Number' I can't get enough of it. I will say this group has given me a different profound respect for K-pop artistry as a whole. They are in their own league! Thank you for watching! More coming soon, promise ♥️.

I don't know if there is a good TVXQ guide video. I think it would be better to react to separate guide videos for each member. Because it's really hard to find an objective one. Also it's not possible to put all the 20 years of history in one video. For Junsu, i can recommend you this one. It's a mini fanmade documentary about Junsu but also very informative about the history of TVXQ. I think it is made pretty well. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/qbCKgrSdt9-no3k.htmlsi=M-rGw9rJd2e17GJa For Jaejoong, you can watch his documentary, Jaejoong: On the Road. For the other members, i don't know a good guide video. I think the other fans would give better recomendations than me.

When DBSK debuts in Korea, it becomes a boom, since they debut after SHINWA, after the popularity of BOA, DBSK arrives, but just as they did with Boa, it was the first Korean solo singer to be known in Japan, they wanted to do the same with DBSK, so shortly after debuting in Korea, they sent them to Japan to debut, but when they arrived they realized They realized that no one knew them, and they didn't know the language, so they sent them to study the language, and on the other hand, so that they knew them, they sang under the bridges, and they even went there.mentioning that they were a Korean group and that they were promoting their songs to the people who passed by, over time they began to give concerts but in small places, and well little by little they arrived to give a concert in a renowned place for Japan, that is why by getting to do a concert in that place, YOOCHUN sees that his efforts finally paid off and they finally managed to earn the Japanese market, and even now we all have more respect for Korean and Japanese fans, since they are the first 😊😊

thank you for reacting! oh yeah the breakup was devastating for the fandom and i had only been a fan for one year before then lol, so i can imagine it was hard for them. they were really close like brothers but had different ideas about their future. i think it’s for the best because now the members that left have more creative freedom and have even started their own companies. it also seems like you’re doing mostly ballads now, so i’d like to suggest some more upbeat live performances from them: zion, ride on, darkness eyes, choosey lover, summer dream, last angel, the way u are, crazy love, o jung ban hap and many more. for acapella they also have whatever they say and always there. and i def recommend reacting to junsu's solos like flower and goodbye. also his killing voice i think was mentioned before. he has one of the most unique voices in kpop, and he’s only gotten better with time because of his experience in musicals

They are TVXQ's brother group who still popular since 2005 till now. If TVXQ popular as perfect/dream team group since beginning, Super Junior starting their career as first big group in kpop and project group so their members 'graduate' and active as singer, entertainer, or actors. They're vocals are no joke tho. They almost disbanding in 2006, but since have such powerfull fandom, then sm decided to make them as permanent group.

Their breakup is a loss for everyone, and for me personally, in the category of the biggest band breakups, which are a loss for music history, it is second only to the Beatles. And when I say everyone, that includes both those who knew them at the time and those who never listened to them. And if there was a ranking of the best artists who remained unknown to the world, they would be first. In the period 2008-2009 they have the largest fandom in the world, not including their Japanese fans, who have a separate fandom - Big East. You asked if JYJ and TVXQ ever communicate. My guess is that they likely do since they both have - at least partially - the same friend groups. Yunho and Changmin are still very good friends with members of Super Junior, Shinee and many others - and Junsoo and Jaejoong are still friends with them also. And it probably wouldn't work having friends who are good friends with people that you hate! My guess is id that they may well communicate but not in public. That has to do with the relationship between their fan bases. To say that "they don't get along" is a vast understatement. So it may be risky for them to openly interact with each other. For instance I know little to nothing about JYJ. Not because I dislike or don't support them - but because when I did try to see their videos I'd read the comments sections. To say that they were openly hostile to Yunho and Changmin is another vast understatement. I don't know if they still are but recently I've seen a couple of Ot5 videos that are. As I am a huge fan of TVXQ as both the original and with Yunho and Changmin it was pretty much impossible to be in any JYJ spaces.

Just an idea for Jae Joong to be in the middle. I think it’s a choir stand point. The most vocally stable and have the best in tune voice is usually in the middle. I was in choir and I got put in the middle because of that. That’s my take tho. His visual is there, but as a musician, it’s a strategic choice.
