Glad to see you reacting to TVXQ! Actually, the album for Spellbound comes with a deck of cards and each card has pictures of them throughout the years--but unfortunately not sold separately, I don't think lol.

You can probably see now why people always mention Something and Spellbound together lol. TVXQ is grown up Kpop. The current generation boy groups would never be able to perform with female dancers and performers the way TVXQ did in the last two videos. That's something only the older generations of Kpop have been able to do. Relationships, at least on screen, were more normalised back then. Now everything is very sanitised and the only partners idols are supposed to have are their fans. It's a shame really. I mean how great was this choreo 😁

I was noticing that a lot in the last video especially. Today’s kpop choreography has a lot of really suggestive moves but when dancing in mixed groups, dancers barely ever touch. Whereas the last video especially, although they were pretty tame touches, hands on bare shoulder or a finger on the cheek, it somehow felt saucier because they were definitely touching each other. But I see where they are coming from these days, having grown up in an era where the dancers in music videos were just sexualized objects (looking at you 80s hair bands) and now female backup dancers are treated as artists in their own right. But still, as a grown adult watching grown adults dancing, I enjoy the saucy flirty choreo in both of these last two videos.

Yeah, that is a good point. I don't think about these things until you brought these up. It's true, very separate and less umm adult but not in a creepy weird way lol

funnily enough i have a keychain version of that metal tvxq coin (no idea where it is right now haha). i got it at smtown in korea a pretty long time ago but they may exist for sale online second-hand

Kinda realizing TVXQ has this whole black, white and red theme going through most of their videos I’ve seen. I think that’s cool, continuing a specific aesthetic thread across different genres. Most groups match the aesthetic to the song and so have really different vibes each time. NCT in particular has hyper stylized aesthetics for every video but it’s completely different every time. I think both approaches are cool.
