Years ago I worked on 8tracks and cassette players but these are a lot more intricate than I'm used to so I decided to back off and find somebody to do the job have a great

this video is AMAZING I did break some of the posts on the back of the unit because it was for no apparent reason jammed to death. Thanks a lot for taking the time to make this series of videos to walk us through this utter complicated unit. (y)

I agree with the complexity to unit I pulled mine out took the cover off took a good look at both your videos and the unit and I'm debating whether I want to get any deeper into it or take it to an expert like yourself thank you very much for these informative videos have a great day

My laser arm is stuck in the center position too. This happened about a month after I replaced the gear with the broken tooth, re synced the unit, and cleaned all the micro switches with deoxit spray. How do I get the laser arm back into its docking station to the side? PLEASE make a video on this as others have had the same concern. Thanks!

I have a 2007 Fusion with a 6 CD changer that makes a noise like a gear bypassing another gear or something of that nature. Any ideas on what and where to look for an issue. Used to only do it on start up but now it will occasionally do it while driving.

Your video is great thank you I did not have to take my 2005 explorer 6 CD changer apart to get stuck CD s out but when I went to put it back in and hooked the electric connector s up it came on without the key even being in it's like the am radio is on but off station someone said I need to reset a code ?? Do you know anything about that I don't have a owner's manual and I just got this truck any help would be appreciated thanks again

Your videos are on point ! Thanks for what you do.. My Question: do you know where i can buy that small spur gear that you found broken in this video? I have 2 units and both of those gears were broken / missing a tooth in each.

That gear I've only been able to replace by scavenging other units with different problems, not sure where to actually get them otherwise, unfortunately.

Hi, your video how to fix cd 6 disc changer is great. Do you have video to fix cd 6 disc changer from Toyota Camry 2002 (JBL Model 86120-AA060) It give me ERR code 3. I can't play, load or load at all. Please help. Thanks

I was stoked while watching this video, as you were very thorough in your explanations. I thought, "I can do this". So I removed the radio and started the did-assembly, only to find that my unit is completely different from the one in the video. Any suggestions ?

There are at least 3 or 4 different mechanisms that are used in these radios, that I have seen. This particular one (Clarion) seems to be the most common. Unfortunately at the moment I don't have any information dealing with the other types, however I can tell you that I believe the other types are Matsushita and possibly Fujitsu, with Matsushita probably being the next most common type.

From the blood, I see that I'm not the only one that's allergic to sheet metal. I always break out in cuts when dealing with sheet metal.

Hey Workbench, I love your video, it helps a lot with my son 2007 mustang radio (shaker 500). try to remove the black gear that control laser assembly , I noticed middle gear teeth are worn out. do you have any middle gear that I could buy to replace gear.

Hey Michael, I too discovered the middle gear (white gear) was not only worn out but had broken teeth. Were you able to find a place to obtain this particular gear? Any info you could provide would be great, Thanks!

I have a 2002 Escape with the Audiophile CD6 changer, getting the dreaded cd error code. I would like to remove it and restore it as per your video. Is my unit the same as the one in your video? Excellent video, really well done! Thanks.

I've seen some radios that look just like the one in this video with a different changer mechanism, so I couldn't tell you for sure which you've got, unfortunately :( The only way to know for sure is to take the radio out and take a look.

On mine the laser arm is in the center position and won't let the slide plates to move back to the side and out of the center playing position ... how do you get it to move back to the stowed position ???

it is too late to type for you tonight but I may manage tomorrow time, because the whole thing brings Swiss watches to ones' mind, and wonder goes as far as the circled shape of gears. square and rectangular shapes don't work.
