This actually worked on my friend's 2013 Corolla. You need a TB2915AHQ chip and patience. Definitely put the thermal pad on the back so the chip doesn't burn out again.

My 95 Camry radio died no sound. Went to best buy and had a new one put in . $180. Forget doing this stuff.

Wow, thanks for posting this! I pulled mine out and verified that I've got the same amplifier IC - but I'm having a hell of a time sourcing a replacement. The only sellers I could find are all in China. Any thoughts in where to find a domestic supplier? Thanks, homesnacks!

Well what if you replaced the radio and still no sound? I checked the front right speakers volts and the speakers are getting power but i'm thinking the speakers are blown. I will check with a bookshelf speaker tomorrow. Hopefully that's the problem.

I'm having this same issue. What is the part number you used again? And generally if you have 2 factory radios that look identical, are they typically built the same?

I should consider myself fortunate compared to what you had to go thru getting that ic out. My 30 year old hitachi car radio has a similar looking ic and the only thing holding it in WAS the heat sink. Yes, all the legs were cold solder joints and as soon as i pulled off the 2 screws holding the heat sink, i was able to pull the ic off the board.

Wow, that's terrible. Vibration really seems to do a number on some radios, from what I've seen.

Wouldn't a decent desoldering gun do quick work of that amplifier module? Maybe you don't have one?

I can spot hand soldered capacitors. May it be serviced before and someone forgot to put a heat transfer pad back?

I've seen a bunch of OEM radios that looked like the caps had been soldered after the SMD components had been reflowed, so that's probably why they look that way. Pretty sure this radio had never been opened before. Also, this isn't the only OEM radio I've seen that had no TIM between amp, or regulators, and the heatsink. Seems a lot of manufacturers skimp on the TIM now days. Even some aftermarket radios I've seen were lacking TIM. It's just crazy considering the amps can get really hot in operation.

@@ThatElectronicsFool lost what seems like a coupling cap on the front side (where the IC is) seems like one of the audio in lines and its a gray/white passive that has 3 other identical ones to the side. any clue of the value of the component?
